Anderson House, a 1905 Beaux Arts mansion built as the winter residence of Larz Anderson, an American ambassador, and his wife, Isabel, allows visitors to immerse themselves in the history and magnificence of Gilded Age Washington. The mansion, which was designed by the Boston architectural firm Arthur Little Herbert Browne, was recognized as a National Historic Landmark in 1996. The Andersons' Washington residence was designed largely for entertaining guests. From 1905 until 1937, they held a variety of events including diplomatic and inaugural receptions, formal dinners and luncheons, and musical performances. Anderson House has been host to some of the world's most important leaders and intellectuals, including William H. Taft, Calvin Coolidge, and Winston Churchill, as well as other notable figures from the United States and beyond. A collection of Asian ivories and lacquerware, as well as screens and sculptures, have been collected by Larz and Isabel during their many travels around the world. English paintings hang on the walls, as do French and Flemish tapestries. The transfer of Anderson House and much of its original furnishings to The Society of the Cincinnati, a patriotic organization of which Larz Anderson had been a committed member, was orchestrated by Isabel Anderson after Larz’s death in 1937. The Society for the Preservation of the American Revolution was founded in 1783 by George Washington and other leaders of the Continental Army and is today a non-profit historical organization dedicated to preserving the memory of the American Revolution. There are free guided tours, a changing exhibition gallery, a research library, and a variety of public programs available at Anderson House.

This rooftop even has a compass binnacle, which is typical of a ship's deck. It is equipped with a retractable canopy, heating and air conditioning, which allows you to host your special event all year long in complete comfort and convenience. From Capitol View at 400, you can take in a breathtaking view of Washington, D.C. IN THE HEART OF WASHINGTON, THE CAPITOL VIEW AT 400 IS WASHINGTON'S PREMIER ROOFTOP VENUE, FEATURING SPECTACULAR VIEWS OF THE UNITED STATES CAPITOL, UNION STATION, AND THE WASHINGTON MONUMENT. The COMPASS BINNACLE ON THE ROOFTOP COMPLETES THE DESCRIPTION OF THIS ROOFTOP. The Capitol View at 400 hosted its first event on January 3, 2013, and it was a spectacular success. A beautiful reception for 250 guests was held despite freezing temperatures outside (the temperature outside was 30 degrees). On this cold winter night, the views looking out over the city were absolutely breathtaking. Throughout the evening, the guests were treated to a memorable evening of jazz music, which marked the beginning of a new season in Washington, D.C. It was in May of 2011 that the design for this new rooftop began, and it began with a gravel roof that was similar in appearance to the other tower at this location. The building, which is located at 400 – 444 North Capitol Street, NW in the heart of Capitol Hill, can be reached by public transportation. When the building was constructed, its owners wanted to provide visitors with a chance to take in one of the most spectacular views of the nation's capital. There are only a handful of rooftop venues in Washington that provide spectacular views, and each one is unique in its own way. From Union Station, we have a panoramic view that stretches 300 degrees across the city, taking in the Library of Congress, the Capitol Dome, and the Washington Monument. And anyone who has been to Washington knows that the view is even more spectacular as the sun sets and the monuments come to life with illumination. From this vantage point, you have the impression that you can reach out and touch the sky, taking in all of Washington's splendor and wonder.

Amélie DC Bistro & Wine Bar
1315 14th St NW, Washington, DC 20005, USA- Spaces for 80-100 Guests
Amélie – Washington, D.C. Step through the door and Logan Circle falls away. Candlelight flickers off wine glasses, the low hum of conversation mixes with the clink of cutlery, and somewhere behind the bar, a cork is being pulled from a bottle that took someone real care to choose. This is Amélie — and for one evening, it's yours. It started, as the best things do, with a group of friends who loved food, loved wine, and loved France a little too much to keep it to themselves. In 2006, that love became a small bistro on Polk Street in San Francisco. Word spread. The concept traveled — to Fairfax, to West 8th Street in New York, to Amsterdam Avenue — until it finally found its way to Logan Circle, D.C., where it's been welcoming neighbors and newcomers alike ever since. Every Amélie has its own kitchen, its own wine list, its own regulars who know exactly which stool is "theirs." But they all share the same instinct: pour generously, cook honestly, and make people feel like they've just walked into a favorite corner of Paris. At its heart, Amélie is a wine bar — a deep, thoughtfully curated by-the-glass list built for lingering, for toasting, for second (and third) pours. Around it, Executive Chef Anthony Lemortellec turns out French classics and seasonal plates that taste like they were made for exactly this kind of night. Bring your people. Whether it's an intimate dinner, a cocktail hour that stretches past last call, or a weekend brunch worth talking about for weeks, Amélie sets the table and lets the evening take it from there. Host your next celebration here — and give your guests a taste of Paris, right in the heart of D.C.
