Francesca's Restaurants is a neighborhood Trattoria that serves traditional Italian fare in a refined setting. The multi-unit restaurant business retains its dedication to the original restaurant's founding idea of Italian hospitality—where simple food made with quality ingredients and careful service makes a meal—across all formats. Chef Scott Harris never anticipated that his ambition of starting a trattoria-style Italian restaurant on North Clark Street in 1992 would blossom into a successful collection of 23 restaurants across eight themes and two states. Larry and Mark Levy bought D.B. Kaplan's Delicatessen in Chicago's Water Tower Place in 1978. Levy Restaurants was founded with the help of their mother, Eadie, and some traditional family recipes. Larry and Mark enlisted the help of their mother, Eadie, in the deli. Eadie Levy became known as our "Company Mom" after that. The concept of sports catering was born. At the former Comiskey Park in 1982, Levy pioneered the concept of excellent dining in stadiums (then home of the Chicago White Sox). Since opening in July 1999, the restaurant has built a following around its rustic, casually sophisticated atmosphere — where the warmth of Italian hospitality and the chatter of guests around the table set the tone for every meal and gathering. For private events, Francesca's Amici accommodates groups ranging from 10 to 180 guests across two dedicated event spaces. Room 1 seats up to 30 guests in a more intimate setting, while the North Room handles larger parties of up to 80 seated. The venue accommodates a range of group sizes across several distinct outdoor spaces: a beachfront area that handles up to 350 guests reception-style, a covered deck with seating for up to 150, and individual cabanas for smaller groups of up to 25. A full venue buyout extends capacity to 550 standing or 400 seated guests, providing exclusive use of the entire beachfront, deck, and all cabanas.
