Che Fico is an Italian Taverna in San Francisco’s Nopa neighborhood. It’s a place to gather with friends and enjoy warm hospitality, food and drink, through an approachable menu and convivial ambiance. The food focuses on Italian cuisine through the lens of California. It’s our vision of Northern California as if it is a region in Italy, our connection to the region and our love for Italian culinary practices. The rustic, market-driven menu features handmade pasta, pizzas, antipasti, housemade salumi, meat and fish plus dishes from the Jewish-Roman heritage known as “Cucina Ebraica.” The restaurant itself inhabits a building with over 100 years of history in San Francisco and was originally built as a stable after the great fire in 1906 and before our takeover of the space, an auto body shop. It is a rare opportunity to host an outside garden wedding or other special event at the Landmarks Art and Garden Center, which is a carefully restored historic cottage and garden from Tiburon's first years. It is a garden consisting of a big flat lawn and four terraces connected by curving brick paths, all of which have spectacular views of Richardson Bay. The property is a square acre with stunning views of Richardson Bay. There are benches scattered throughout the garden, each with a unique perspective of the harbor and neighboring hills. Heritage trees, a rose arbor, vibrant floral beds, and a pagoda birdhouse are among the elements of the landscape. Nestled in the garden is the farm house, which was erected in the 1870s when Tiburon was a thriving railroad hub and has been renovated. In addition to two bright and airy rooms, the cottage has an old wood-burning stove that adds to its charm. A fire-school bell from 1890, which is sounded for special occasions, can be found just outside the building. The San Francisco Botanical Garden offers four unique outdoor areas for creating an unforgettable event. Celebration Garden: Newly renovated in 2019, the Celebration Garden is our largest and most private and versatile outdoor venue with an amazing array of iconic plants from throughout the Botanical Garden. Conveniently located by the Main Gate, this expansive manicured garden can accommodate a variety of events including intimate ceremonies by the Thomas Church Pavilion, elegant tented receptions on the large green lawn, and casual company picnics or team-building retreats. Garden of Fragrance: The Garden of Fragrance features a large green lawn surrounded by an expansive collection of uniquely scented flowering plants. Ideal for ceremonies or cocktail receptions with up to 100 people. Moon Viewing Garden: A world away from the fast pace of the city, the Moon Viewing Garden’s zen like atmosphere is the perfect setting for couples to exchange their vows and take wedding photos. Up to 20 people for a standing ceremony only. Redwood Grove: Tucked away down treelined pathways, The Redwood Grove's gathering circle, has both a sacred and celebratory feeling for an intimate ceremony with up to 60 people. Fixed wooden benches are included. Rental Options: There are various event rental options to choose from. Starline Private Events is located in the Starline Social Club, a dynamic and historic location that offers three unique event spaces for private events. With pleasant, professional service and cutting-edge audio/visual technology, we can arrange in-house food, beverage, and entertainment packages. The Starline Social Club is a bar, restaurant, and performance venue in Uptown Oakland, housed in a historic three-story Victorian edifice. Our one-of-a-kind and historically significant structure is a true Oakland gem. We offer a flexible location with three separate rooms for private rentals, as well as in-house food and bar service, audiovisual services, and production and styling options. We provide a wide variety of different and creative events, available to all ages, ranging from traditional to edgy, easygoing to formal, 30 people to 450 people. Some parties are held in the second-floor ballroom, while smaller groups prefer the Explorers Club's dim romantic speakeasy atmosphere. Before dinner, some people have a cocktail hour in the downstairs bar. We are pleased to offer both traditional wedding parties with sit-down dinners and a first dance, as well as less traditional wedding parties with music and food, or those who wish to reconsider what a commitment ceremony can be all together. Founded in 1930 with a gift from John D. Rockefeller Jr., International House at UC Berkeley is a historic nonprofit residential and event center located at 2299 Piedmont Ave., adjacent to the UC Berkeley campus in Berkeley, California. The landmark building combines nearly a century of architectural character — including Spanish-style cartwheel chandeliers, arched windows, and hand-painted wooden ceilings — with modern production technology suited for conferences, galas, receptions, lectures, and private celebrations. Three dedicated event spaces accommodate gatherings of all sizes, from board meetings and hybrid conferences for 25 guests to banquets for 240 and lecture-style presentations for up to 380. The flagship Chevron Auditorium features one of the few full-size stages on the UC Berkeley campus, while the Golub Home Room offers an intimate setting with sweeping San Francisco Bay views, and the Sproul Conference Rooms provide flexible configurations for smaller professional gatherings. The Faculty Club was established "to encourage mutual acquaintance and companionship among officers of education and governance of the University," and it acted as a grand successor to the University Dining Association cottage, which served the faculty during the 1890s.
