River Oaks Garden Club, a member of The Garden Club of America, was founded in 1927 and has made numerous contributions to the Houston community in the areas of conservation, horticulture, and civic beautification. River Oaks Garden Club is a member of The Garden Club of America. The proceeds from the Azalea Trail are used to support the following ongoing projects: Louise Stevenson, a founding member of the River Oaks Garden Club, was the driving force behind the organization's inception. She persuaded her next-door neighbor, Hennie Cottingham, to join her in forming some sort of civic beautification organization to address the critical need for civic beautification in the River Oaks neighborhood. When the Garden Club's first official meeting was held on October 27, 1927, it was attended by 29 members, and it marked the beginning of a thriving and growing organization that was eventually admitted into the Garden Club of America in 1938. The members of the club quickly gained knowledge in the areas of gardening, garden design, horticulture, and flower arranging, among other things. They used their newfound knowledge to encourage others to get involved in improving the planted environment in Houston. There are no commercial, political, or fundraising purposes permitted on the Forum. Teen parties are also prohibited on the Forum. The maximum number of people who can fit into the space is 175. HPD security will be provided, and all functions must be completed and the building cleaned and vacated by midnight on the day of the rental agreement. The building manager must approve any outside catering, and all rental equipment must be picked up after the event unless otherwise agreed upon with the building manager.

Kemah Gardens is a wedding and event venue set on four private, gated acres of pines just two miles from the Kemah Boardwalk and roughly 30 miles from both Houston and Galveston. The property centers on a lake with an illuminated fountain and a vintage arbor, where ceremonies take place as the sun sets over the water; guests visiting Kemah Gardens have also spotted blue herons, egrets, red hawks, mallards, and turtles from the lake. The venue's climate-controlled pavilion accommodates up to 150 guests, with a covered patio adding room for 60 to 70 more. Inside, a 5,000-square-foot Tuscan-inspired interior houses a bridal suite, a groom's room, and a guest gathering area for up to 40 to 50 guests. The original Houston Heights Fire Station No. 14 is located at Yale and 12th Street, approximately 4 miles north of downtown Houston, and is the last remaining municipal facility from the era when the Heights was a separate municipality. Houston's first public meeting hall, City Hall, fire station, and jail were all constructed in 1914 at a time when horse-drawn fire wagons were still the primary means of transportation. When it became Station Number 14 in 1918, it would remain that way until 1987, when it was permanently decommissioned for the last time. The Houston Heights Association voted in the early millennium to save the building and restore it to its former splendor, and they were successful. After repairing the building and installing vintage carriage-style doors in homage to the horse-drawn carriages of the early twentieth century, when the corral was located directly behind the fire station, The H.H.A. was able to reopen the corral. After being purchased by the Houston Height Association in 1979, the property has since grown to become one of the most popular outdoor wedding venues in the city of Houston.
