City Orchard was founded by the serendipitous meeting of three like-minded Houstonians. Our objective is simple; create the best ciders from the best ingredients in a welcoming environment. With family-owned farms along the shores of Lake Ontario, City Orchard taps deep into the roots of Great Lakes Apple Country. We bring the heritage of our cider culture and orchards to our favorite city. We press carefully selected apples on the farm, truck the juice to Houston, and produce traditional ciders in an urban setting – we are an orchard in the city. Master Sommelier June Rodil curated an expansive list of delicious wines with a strong Italian, Spanish and French focus from their favorite producers new and old, along with options from progressive New World producers. One small quaint restaurant grew into a city block of Tuscan and Sicilian inspired venues. Their two daughters, Vinceanne and Dana joined the empire in the early 90’s, fresh out of college. They worked alongside their parents and helped to continue the dream. For the love of food, culture, family and friends this helped them thrive and succeed in the growth of Nino’s, Vincent’s, Grappino di Nino, La Gelateria and Pronto Cucinino. Originally an old lumber barn, the Podium at Porsche River Oaks has been fully renovated and refurbished as a unique event space. The space is perfect for a variety of gatherings like, birthdays, meetings, corporate happy hours, nonprofit events, and more. This prominent and dignified lumber barn needed to be restored for a new purpose. The vision was to create a space where neighbors could pick up a latte on the way to work, stay for a few hours online, or stop by for a craft cocktail in the afternoon. The building also serves as a bespoke venue, specially designed to suit a variety of events. The Podium is partnered with a food and beverage team to bring the best experience to our guests. We are regularly open as an upscale coffee house and bar and are available for private event rentals.
