The Graham Center serves as Florida International University's student union and central gathering hub on the Modesto A. Maidique Campus in Miami. Originally built in 1974 as a 78,000-square-foot facility, the building has grown into the university's primary destination for major events, academic instruction, student services, and retail — a natural crossroads for the entire FIU community. For events, the Graham Center offers a suite of flexible spaces anchored by its Ballrooms, which can be configured as three separate bays — East, West, and Center — or opened as a single room accommodating up to 900 guests in a theater layout or 500 for a seated banquet. The center is staffed by an experienced event planning team with expertise in operations, logistics, and audiovisual production. I opened The River Oyster Bar fifteen years ago with the idea of creating a local bistro that serves high-quality oysters and seafood in a comfortable setting with friendly knowledgeable service. Till this day we go to great lengths, working with several purveyors, fishermen and farmers to source the finest sustainable, local when possible seafood available, we purchase only whole fresh fish and butcher in-house, this allows us to maintain the highest quality. Our oysters are flown in from all over the United States in many cases directly from the farm where they are raised in pristine waters, tagged with the harvest area and date to ensure the highest quality and safety. We continuously educate our staff so that they can speak to our guests about our cuisine, wine, and spirits in an informative manner. If oysters and seafood is not your thing, don’t fret, we put as much effort into our non-seafood cuisine.
