The Barn at Schwinn Produce Farm sits on a homestead in the Salt Creek Valley of Leavenworth County, Kansas, that has been in the Schwinn family since the late 1800s. The property spans more than 50 acres and is steeped in history — Buffalo Bill Cody's boyhood home stands nearby on the Santa Fe Trail, and the old Hund School, a one-room schoolhouse now listed on the National Register of Historic Places, sits to the south. The Barn itself is 4,500 square feet of traditional white oak Timber Frame construction, assembled with wooden pegs and wedges rather than nails. Inside, that craftsmanship is complemented by computer-controlled LED lighting and a Bose sound system, making the space well suited to weddings, receptions, reunions, corporate gatherings, and church events alike. Radiant heated floors and a full commercial kitchen with ice machine support year-round use.
