In 1886,a century before the Cultural Arts Council Douglasville/Douglas County purchased this elegant, late Victorian period home, Judge and Colonel W.T. Roberts exchanged wedding vows with Emma Quillian, daughter of the Reverend J. C. B. Quillian. Reverend Quillian was one of the early settlers of Douglas County, and the property’s original owner. After the death of Reverend Quillian, Colonel Roberts bought the land from his mother-in-law and work on the two-story Neoclassical home began March 21, 1901.

The Barn at Tatum Acres is a 75-acre farm venue tucked into the North Georgia mountains near Big Canoe, about an hour from downtown Atlanta. The property began as a family farm — Doug Tatum famously closed the deal on a napkin with a one-dollar bill — and was transformed into an event destination under the creative direction of interior designer Lynda Tatum, who designed the barn using timber harvested from the land itself. The 8,000 square foot indoor event venue is completely climate controlled and has a floral bar, a huge heated kitchen, private facilities, and a magnificent bride and groom suite, among other amenities. Our facility can accommodate 300 people for a sit-down dinner and 400 guests for a standing reception.
