Afton Villa Gardens is a historic outdoor garden estate in St. Francisville, Louisiana, set on over 20 acres of formal gardens, manicured lawns, and ancient oak-lined grounds draped in Spanish moss. The property traces its origins to the mid-19th century, and its gardens — listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983 — have been meticulously restored and cultivated to reflect their original Southern grandeur. The gardens accommodate weddings and private events for up to 250 guests across the estate's outdoor grounds, including a formal parterre garden, ruins garden, daffodil valley, and sweeping terraces. Ceremony and reception locations are chosen from throughout the property, allowing couples and event hosts to take full advantage of the seasonal landscape — most notably the spectacular azalea displays that bloom along the estate's oak-canopied drive each spring. The estate is open for events in spring and fall, and its unspoiled natural setting offers a distinctive backdrop found nowhere else in the region.
