The Headlands Facility for the Arts is a multidisciplinary, international arts center committed to artists, the creative process, and the creation of new, original ideas and artwork. What we do is only as significant as where we are. Just north of the Golden Gate Bridge, at historic Fort Barry in the Marin Headlands, a component of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, our site consists of a cluster of artist-rehabilitated military structures. Facility Rental: Conveniently located near home, but a world away. Headlands is a one-of-a-kind meeting spot for a variety of events and celebrations. Individuals and organizations can use our facility for classes, meetings, conferences, photo shoots, weddings, and other events. Headlands' venues are great for groups wishing to connect, brainstorm, discuss, celebrate, and think creatively in a quiet setting, just fifteen minutes from San Francisco and convenient to North, East, and South Bay regions. Our campus is located within the 2,100 windswept acres of hills, cliffs, coves, and beaches that make up the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, and is housed within artist-renovated 1907 period army barracks. Headlands' renovated and re-imagined historic military barracks have been the venue of several events that combine great cuisine, wonderful people, and a spirit of community and collaboration off the beaten path (and off the grid). Studio visits are possible to engage with artists from Headlands' internationally acclaimed programs. Are you interested in learning more about the options available to your group? • Haas-Lilienthal House

2007 Franklin St, San Francisco, CA 94109, USA

History The 11,500 square foot Haas-Lilienthal House, designed by architect Peter R. Schmidt for William and Bertha Haas and built in 1886, represents both the ambitious spirit of San Francisco's pioneers and its great Victorian-period architecture. It survived the 1906 earthquake and fire and remained in the Haas-Lilienthal family until 1973, when the House was entrusted to a new architectural preservation organization, The Foundation for San Francisco's Architectural Heritage, by the three adult children of the recently deceased Alice Haas-Lilienthal (now SF Heritage). The H-L Home subsequently became their new headquarters after some planning, and it was rapidly turned into offices, a house museum with docent-led public tours, and a sophisticated location for special functions. In addition, SF Heritage created an extremely effective teaching program for third graders to learn more about architecture, preservation, and nineteenth-century living. Today, this exuberant Queen Anne style home survives as a site of national cultural and architectural significance. In addition to being on the National Register of Historic Places and San Francisco Landmark #69, the House was designated a National Treasure in 2012 by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. House Rental "The Haas-Lilienthal House is an elegant, unique and historic setting for any event" Amenities: - In House Tables and Chairs: Includes Ten 60" Rounds and 65 Mahogany, Chiavari-Style Chairs with Black Cushions - Furnished Dressing Rooms - Fireplace - Parlor Grand Piano - Private Courtyard - Full Kitchen - Costumed Docent (On Request) - One Year Sf Heritage Membership (Individuals / couples)

Mountain Home Inn is a historic 10-room boutique hotel and event venue perched on the Mt. Tamalpais ridgeline in Mill Valley, California — just 20 minutes north of the Golden Gate Bridge. Built in 1912 by Swiss-German founders who surveyed the mountain to find its most scenic vantage point, the inn sits 900 feet above the village of Mill Valley with sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean, San Francisco Bay, and the canopy of Muir Woods below. It is the only commercial property permitted on Mt. Tamalpais, a distinction that reflects both its historic status and enduring connection to this iconic landscape. The venue's three common event spaces — a sun-drenched terrace, a dining room, and a cozy lounge — welcome private celebrations of up to 75 guests, along with two dedicated private rooms: the Mountain View Room, featuring vistas of the surrounding Mt. Tam peaks, and the intimate Bay View Room. The venue is well suited to weddings, private parties, and corporate meetings and retreats. Full beverage service is available on-site, with professional bartenders and a full bar featuring beer and wine. External caterers are welcome, and the venue's proximity to outdoor ceremony sites — including Muir Woods, Muir Beach, Stinson Beach, and the Muir Beach Overlook — makes it a natural base for celebrations that spill beyond its walls.
