We sought to integrate fresh preparations and innovation into New Orleans culinary traditions and culture when I initially opened Emeril's doors in 1990. With an emphasis on innovation and refinement and inspired by the many influences of New Orleans cuisine, we continue to push ourselves to provide our customers with an excellent experience. Mission San Luis is a National Historic Landmark set on 65 acres in Tallahassee, Florida, on the site of one of early Florida's most significant colonial settlements. From 1656 to 1704, the location served as the seat of power for the Apalachee people and the western capital of Spanish Florida, housing more than 1,500 residents including an Apalachee chief and the Spanish deputy governor. Today the site operates as a living history museum accredited by the American Alliance of Museums and managed by the Florida Department of State. The grounds feature reconstructed 17th-century structures — including a Franciscan church, Apalachee council house, convento, Spanish residence, and fort — alongside an exhibit gallery holding artifacts recovered from decades of controlled archaeological excavation. For private events, Mission San Luis offers the Mission Room, a 4,000-square-foot banquet hall accommodating up to 250 seated guests or 500 for a standing reception, with an adjoining 3,000-square-foot courtyard, warming kitchen, and private restrooms. A 125-seat theater, two 30-person classrooms, and a boardroom that seats 12 round out the rental inventory, making the venue well suited to weddings, corporate gatherings, and celebrations of all sizes. The Roosevelt Room is an award-winning cocktail bar and private event venue in Austin's historic downtown Warehouse District, set inside a railroad warehouse built in 1929. The building blends classic and modern design, pairing the structure's original brick and industrial bones with a curated, jewel-toned interior. The venue describes itself as Austin's most awarded cocktail bar, pouring a menu of more than 80 classic and house-created cocktails alongside curated spirits, beer, wine, and food, with staff trained to guide guests through the full list. For private events, the space totals 3,750 square feet and accommodates up to 225 guests across a downstairs dining room and an upstairs mezzanine, the latter offering its own bar, lounge seating, and balcony views, and available separately for private events of up to 60 guests as well as on-site cocktail classes. ART NOUVEAU, French for "New Art" (pronounced New-Vo), spread throughout Europe and major American cities from circa 1890 to World War I, when it fell out of fashion. Appearing just before the Art Deco era it was, in many ways, a response to the Industrial Revolution. Artists, seeing machines and mass production as an enemy of art and design, turned to nature, fantasy, and curvilinear motifs to express their rejection of industry. Art Nouveau artists were among the first to create "art for art's sake" and its influence was found in paintings, architecture, glass, textiles, furniture, silver, china, jewelry, and others. Art Nouveau designers believed that all arts should work in harmony to create a "total work of art". After World War I, the Art Deco style took over and Art Nouveau was soon forgotten. However, it remains one of the most imaginative and intriguing styles in the history of art. After many years, it was discovered in the 1960's and helped pave the way to many forms of modern art.
