Flirty but deadly-serious, just like your favorite little black dress. Ruby is a vintage space that’s been renovated with a timeless classiness. Ruby was redesigned and rebuilt her in 2011. Ever since, Ruby has has been an integral part the historic Hillsboro Village neighborhood. And being directly across the street from Vanderbilt University in midtown, Ruby seems to be at the heart of things in Nashville. Perhaps Ruby's greatest claim to fame is its location within a Nashville city park, what everyone refers to as Dragon Park. The advantage of being an oasis in the park in the middle of the city is clear the moment you arrive. Decks and courtyards ring the historic structure are are used for bars, catering and everything else that benefit from the outdoors. The Historic Sam Davis Home and Plantation sits on 168 acres in Smyrna, Tennessee, where a Greek Revival home built in the early 1800s anchors a property that includes a second historic home, several outbuildings, a family cemetery, and Stewart's Creek winding along the grounds. Wedding parties are drawn to the setting's range of backdrops, from the shaded Backyard beneath large magnolia and maple trees to the tin-roof White Barn favored for elopements and small ceremonies. For ceremonies, the Historic Home's brick aisle-way and porch serve as a naturally decorated altar for larger gatherings, while the Creekside location — with built-in benches overlooking Stewart's Creek — suits intimate weddings of 50 guests or fewer. The Creek House offers a working gas fireplace, hardwood floors, and a full kitchen for receptions, rehearsal dinners, and business luncheons, and can double as a bridal suite for full-site rentals, with the nearby Ed Building serving as a groomsmen room.
