Before it became our beloved event venue, the historic Crystal Plaza was originally a residential mansion. The initial Livingston, New Jersey-based residence was built in the late 1800s by famed architect Stanford White, who was responsible for designing the Tiffany building on Fifth Avenue, the original Madison Square Garden complex and the arch at Washington Square Park in Manhattan, among other landmark structures. While the restored building has since been reincarnated as one of the leading wedding and event spaces in the tri-state area, it still maintains the feeling of its 19th century grandeur, making it a distinct and picturesque setting for special days of all kinds. Our impeccable, white-glove service begins the moment you arrive. Crystal Plaza hosts only one event at a time, ensuring that our dedicated team focuses singularly on you and your every need. Nestled beside a running stream, this family owned and operated 1831 colonial mansion is located only 60 minutes from New York City in the scenic Pochuck Valley, the heart of the Skylands. Our exquisite three-level home features wrap around porches and awe-inspiring views of the countryside. Fox & Bear Lodge is comprised of 8 lush guest rooms, painstakingly restored to preserve the original character of the house, while at the same time delivering modern upgrades designed for our guests' comfort. We've infused it all with a sense of intimacy and warm personality, honoring the buildings' solid bones and graceful architecture with timeless design. ​All rooms at Fox & Bear Lodge have their own private en-suite bathrooms. All stays include a continental breakfast with most of the items you find being made in-house or coming from no more than 50 miles away. Whether you enjoy it leisurely in one of our many common areas, or on the trail before a hike (grab 'n go bags available), you will start your day off ready for whatever should come your way. We LOVE well-behaved dogs (under 35lbs, 2 max), so feel welcome to bring them along for your getaway! If your dog is a bit on the larger side, we will review those requests on a case to case basis. We do charge an additional fee of $100/stay to help cover the costs of cleaning. We also ask that pups joining the trip are quiet and comfortable while unaccompanied in your room while you are out, so as not to disturb other guests. Our high-end space has 6 different spaces including a large great room, library, wellness room, apothecary, kitchen and outdoor courtyard. We are also right across the street from a beautifully designed park. Our space is perfect for corporate off-sites with a large presentation and meeting room and full LED flat panel. We only rent for full days (not by the hour), you can rent one studio for $5,000 or the entire space for $8,000 for up to 12 hours. This includes a studio and kitchen manager but does not include catering. Should you require catering or have more than 100 people, rental of the entire space is mandatory.
