Antrim 1844 is a 24-acre historic estate in Taneytown, Maryland, listed on the National Historic Register. The centerpiece is a 17,000-square-foot mansion with towering ivory columns and sweeping grand porches, surrounded by 11 restored outbuildings housing 40 uniquely appointed guest rooms — making it one of the few event venues in the region where all guests can stay on property. The estate offers multiple ceremony and reception settings, from the English Tea Rose Garden — an outdoor space planted with 80 rose varieties and bronze fountains that accommodates up to 250 seated guests — to the glass-enclosed Pavilion and Garden Room, which seats 180 for ceremonies with garden views and connects directly to the Ballroom for receptions. The Mansion's historic drawing rooms, featuring 14-foot ceilings with plaster medallions, marble mantels, and Monticello windows, provide an elegant setting for cocktail hours. An executive chef leads in-house dining, and the property's wine cellar — stocked with more than 15,000 bottles — is available for private dinners. Why consider Prosperity Mansion and Farm"? 1) Price- we are typically 40% less expensive than most wedding venues of the same stature 2) We offer THREE wedding packages to make us affordable 3) No Day of Coordinator required- MOST wedding venues now make it MANDATORY that you must hire a "Day of Coordinator or Wedding Planner". This comes at a significant additional cost of $1,200 to $3.000. Make sure that you add that into the quote for the cost of the wedding venue. 4) Select your own vendors- We do have a preferred vendors list but absolutely allow outside vendors as long as they meet our simple requirements. 5) BYOB- We have two local liquor stores that will deliver anything that you want in coolers iced up and ready to go on your wedding day. They will return after last call and refund you for anything that was unopened. Or you may bring your own. 6) A deposit will secure your date 7) Payment plans are available with zero % interest. 8) No hidden costs- We do charge a nominal fee for the ceremony if you are getting married here. However, make sure you ask the wedding venue if there are any extra fees that are no covered in the initial quote. I have heard from couples that once they met with a venue for a tour and leaned about all the things that cost extra that they could no longer afford them. For DREAM weddings held in July or August of 2025 or 2026- 10% discount from the already discounted brochure prices! Does not apply to other specials. The grounds include a stone bridge and rock waterfall, and the course carries a Golf Digest 4 1/2-star rating. Events are hosted in the Premier Clubhouse, whose rustic Ballroom holds up to 250 guests and features large windows, a wooden dance floor, and a classic bar overlooking the golf grounds. A triple-tiered stone patio extends the space outdoors, positioned above the 18th fairway and green with views of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
