Located in the heart of Texas's Hill Country, A Thousand Cedars offers a unique forest setting brimming with majestic Cedar trees, big Oak trees, and a variety of other native Texas plants. Many clearly indicated paths lead to the location, providing convenient access for the Wedding Party and their guests. The natural scenery also provides fantastic photography options for the entire wedding party and their guests. A Colorado and Industrial motif has been included into the design of the venue itself, which features Cedar beams, black iron trusses, exposed brickwork, vaulted ceilings that reach 30 feet in height, and enormous glass windows on all sides that let the forest and natural light to fill the space. Our Bridal and Groom Suites, which are completely furnished, are accessible via a stairway near the entryway. Each Suite will be large enough to accommodate entire bridal parties as they prepare for the big day, and it will be equipped with its own shower, bath, vanities, mirrors, and windows to let in plenty of natural light. Leading from the suites, you will arrive at the inside balcony, which provides a panoramic view of the entire reception hall and is an excellent location for additional wedding day photos or bouquet throwing. The property was built beginning in 2009 by contractor Lon Danley, who drew on his New Mexico upbringing to construct the buildings from more than 6,500 stacked straw bales finished in white stucco, in the style of Old World Spanish architecture. Handcrafted details from Lost Mission's on-site workshop appear throughout the property, including hand-carved white oak and cypress doors, wrought-iron sconces and chandeliers, 1890s pews shipped in from a Pennsylvania church, and a mission bell reclaimed from a Kerrville farm. The climate-controlled Mission Style Chapel seats up to 240 guests beneath stained-glass windows, while the Modern Reception Hall accommodates up to 350 guests and features a 40-foot firewall, wood trusses, a rock fireplace, and a built-in bar. Our staff knows what it takes to provide you a spectacular and unique wedding as professionals in designing brilliant weddings for decades. We can accommodate up to 300 guests as they watch you commit the rest of your life to the one you love. For your rehearsal and ceremony, we provide holding rooms for the wedding party as well as an on-site planner.

You will have private access to our 10-acre property, as well as access to the following areas: The Manor for you and your wedding party to get ready in, The Courtyard for you to exchange vows in, and The Ballroom for you to celebrate and dance the night away!
