Our name was inspired by the history of the building itself, which was once a Hudson car dealership in the 1930's. The Kim Sing Theatre, formerly the vaudeville house and movie theater, was built in 1926. The Kim Sing Theatre was artfully reimagined in the early 2000's for private use and re-opened to the public in 2017 for the first time in 17 years. Retaining original details such as bow truss ceilings and the customizable neon marquee sign, the site has been modernized into a striking and flexible space with a full residential kitchen, serving station, and AV room. The center of the old theater has been turned into a 2,200 square foot private outdoor courtyard. Kim Sing Theatre is a unique event space. Since it's rebirth, the space has been celebrated for being one of LA's most interesting venues and is respected for its achievement in architecture and design. Suitable for 125 standing or 75 seated guests, they've hosted a variety of events including: corporate conferences & branded activations, product launches, happy hours, private dinner parties, weddings and more. "Café Basque Los Angeles is a love letter. Straddling the borders of France and Spain, wedged between the Pyrenees and the Atlantic, the Pays Basque (Basque Country) is fiercely independent and culturally and linguistically distinct from anywhere in the world. The cooking is joyful, generous and uncomplicated. Overflowing with excellent local products from the mountains and the sea, it has the particularity of being marked by the use of sweet and mildly hot peppers. Named after a town in the mountains above the port of St Jean de Luz, Espelette peppers were imported from central and south America in the 16th century and are a cornerstone of Basque cuisine in the same way that the American tomato has defined a large part of Italian cooking. Meanwhile, amid this rich culture and history, the Basque coast has been one of the world’s great surf destinations since the 1960s. Someone who writes a love letter is not necessarily a specialist on the subject and I do not pretend to be a specialist in Basque cooking. My love affaire is with France and its regions which have been an infinite source of inspiration to me for more than 20 years. The Skyline Boho is the combination of three spaces. Located on the 6th floor, it features an open floor plan with dramatic sunset light coming through all the windows that can be separated into 3 areas. The combined size of the spaces is 5,600 sq. ft. with 11 feet high ceilings. It features gorgeous panoramic 270º city views with Northwest, West, and Southwest facing windows, concrete floors, multi-zone air conditioners, and an abundance of natural mid-day and sunset light. The entire studio is painted white for extra brightness. All the pictured furniture and decor are included.
