The Bill Moore Student Success Center is a multi-use event facility situated in the heart of Midtown Atlanta on Georgia Tech's East Campus, comprising the west side of Bobby Dodd Stadium. The center offers a range of adaptable spaces for meetings, conferences, receptions, trade shows, corporate interviews, recruitment events, and private celebrations including weddings. The venue houses several distinct event areas, from the Clary Theater — a fixed-seat theater accommodating up to 140 guests — to flexible President's Suites that can be configured individually or combined to host up to 230 guests in theater-style seating or 160 at banquet rounds. The Press Rooms and Festival Suite round out the lineup for smaller gatherings and private events. Projectors with speakers are available in the spaces, and the center supports a variety of room layouts including theater, classroom, open U, reception, and banquet rounds. Miller Union is named after the former Miller Union Stockyards that occupied one full city block in Atlanta’s old meatpacking district in the 1880s. The stockyard building suffered a fire after the turn of the century and was later replaced with an industrial warehouse, typical of the time period. Miller Union, the restaurant, was founded in 2009 by Steven Satterfield and Neal McCarthy in the refurbished warehouse that sits on the former site and has since contributed to the evolution of the neighborhood. They created a rustic, yet modern atmosphere with a respect for the history of the neighborhood, and an anchor for the emerging one. Miller Union has since become an Atlanta mainstay. Satterfield cooks in an organic way by reacting to the ever-changing harvest of the seasons. Banshee is a restaurant + bar located in East Atlanta Village serving New American fare that's focused on seasonality. It was opened by partners Peter Chvala, Nolan Wynn, Katie McDonald, and Faielle Bolzan Stocco with the intent of providing upscale food and beverage in a relaxed, casual atmosphere. Within it's first year of operation Executive Chef Nolan Wynn was awarded "Best New Chef 2018" by Atlanta Magazine and was nominated as a semifinalist for "Rising Star Chef of the Year" by the James Beard Foundation. The Shamrock Community Use Building is a rental facility operated by the Clayton County Water Authority, set in the woods between Blalock Reservoir and Shamrock Lake in Jonesboro, Georgia. The building accommodates up to 200 guests and has been the setting for events ranging from wedding receptions to professional conferences. The great room is designed to adapt to a variety of functions, with a commercial-grade kitchen and restrooms at one end. The Biltmore Hotel, which opened its doors in 1924 and served as the center of Atlanta's business and social life for over sixty years. This magnificent landmark was created by the architecture company Shultze and Weaver, which is also responsible for such iconic hotels as The Breakers in Palm Beach, the Waldorf-Astoria in New York, The Pierre, and The Sherry Netherland in Amsterdam. It was formerly referred to as "The South's Supreme Hotel," but the Biltmore was forced to lock its doors in 1982 after a change in ownership and several years of continuous deterioration. When The Biltmore underwent a complete makeover in 1999, it was the result of sixteen years of neglect and abandonment. In 1886,a century before the Cultural Arts Council Douglasville/Douglas County purchased this elegant, late Victorian period home, Judge and Colonel W.T. Roberts exchanged wedding vows with Emma Quillian, daughter of the Reverend J. C. B. Quillian. Reverend Quillian was one of the early settlers of Douglas County, and the property’s original owner. After the death of Reverend Quillian, Colonel Roberts bought the land from his mother-in-law and work on the two-story Neoclassical home began March 21, 1901.
