Bateau
1040 E Union St, Seattle, WA 98122, USABateau, french for “boat,” is both a nod to our first restaurant, Boat Street Café, as well as an attempt to reimagine the American steak house around quality, sustainability and animal welfare. With the name About Bateau, which comes from the French word for "boat," we're paying homage to our first restaurant, Boat Street Café, while also attempting to reimagine the American steakhouse in the context of quality, sustainability, and animal welfare. Traditional cattle breeds, renowned for their flavor, are the centerpiece of Bateau's whole animal menu. These cattle breeds are selected and owned by Bateau and cared for by Pure Country, a Food Alliance certified ranch located in Moses Lake, Washington. All of our cows are raised in a humane manner, fed only grass, and, most importantly, finished only on pasture. Bateau's beef is dry aged for a minimum of 21 days before being butchered on site by Scott Johnson, the butcher for the restaurant. This is certainly not the quickest, easiest, or most cost-effective method of preparing beef, but we believe it is the most effective. Along with Chef Taylor Thornhill's inventive dishes, which frequently include foraged and fermented ingredients, specialty cuts are sold by the pound or by the quantity of meat available. In addition to steakhouse classics done right, such as twice-fried frites and buttery mashed potatoes, the menu includes iconic cocktails and an extensive bottle list. The service is warm and welcoming while also being refined. Many of the fixtures and furniture pieces from Boat Street Café have been repurposed in the dining room as a nod to the former location. The rough slate tables, which are now decades old, as well as the 'Jeffry' chalk drawing by artist Curtis Steiner, will be familiar to visitors. In order to express what is happening in our corner of the world and to pay homage to our beginnings at Boat Street Café, we are attempting to create something new and exciting at Bateau. Urban Grace is a historic 40,000-square-foot event venue and community facility in downtown Tacoma, Washington. The building traces back to 1883, when First Baptist Church first incorporated on the site; the congregation outgrew a series of earlier buildings before starting a capital campaign in 1921 for the structure that stands today. Architects Heath, Gove, and Bell designed the Gothic Revival building, completed in 1925 with glazed terracotta facing and cut stone supplied below market rate by the Walker Cut Stone Company. From the outset, the building was designed to serve more than worship, and that dual purpose carries through in its event spaces today. The Auditorium, renovated in 2021, seats up to 850 guests including its balcony, or 450 on the lower level alone, beneath a lattice-designed domed ceiling, with theatre seating, a modern sound system, and projection capabilities suited to weddings, concerts, and large gatherings. The Large Event Space offers 4,180 square feet of hardwood flooring and a raised stage for receptions of up to 200, backed by a full commercial kitchen, while the Chapel seats up to 80 amid stained glass and mahogany accents for more intimate ceremonies and small gatherings. A Conference Room and a Small Event Space accommodate meetings and gatherings of 40 and 60 respectively, each lit by the building's original ten-foot windows overlooking downtown Tacoma. Beyond hosting weddings and private events, Urban Grace is also home to more than fifteen resident nonprofits and arts organizations.

A corporation known as Art Marble established a business in 1921 with the goal of providing high-end granite and stone to consumers in the Pacific Northwest, which was the beginning of our restaurant's history. Our restaurant, which was once known as Art Marble Co., was inspired by the period, and we wanted to maintain the building in order to remember its past. One hundred years later, we are happy to keep the original name of one of South Lake Union's oldest structures. The classics and staples of the past are still important to us as we usher in a new millennium of history in the city of Seattle. We also provide our own interpretation of the tastes in order to provide you the greatest flavors we can find. Art Marble 21 is now the top South Lake Union treatment for the Seattle Freeze, and it's easy to see why. AM21's multi-level facility caters to the needs of both locals and visitors, whether they are business or pleasure tourists. However, Mason's Loft on the second floor, which has customizable floor plans as well as private rooms and a secondary audio visual system, is ideal for any size business or personal event. Featuring one of the best views in the city, this unusual park is neatly sandwiched into a steep residential area and makes ingenious use of a "difficult" space. From the sloping hillside you have a great view of downtown, Lake Union, the I-5 freeway and Capitol Hill. Please come to 1102 South A street, where we hope you will enjoy the diverse community that we have created here. The Ballroom, which was originally a Federal courtroom, was completely renovated in 2015 with your event in mind. The Steamship Virginia V
Naval Reserve Armory, 860 Terry Ave N, Seattle, WA 98109, USA- Spaces for 100-150 Guests
- 1 Boat
Her inaugural journey, as a member of the Puget Sound Mosquito Fleet, took place on June 11, 1922, and she arrived in Seattle on June 14, 1922. The Mosquito Fleet was the world's first regional ferry system, linking coastal communities around South Puget Sound in the early twentieth century. It was through steamship that people were carried between the burgeoning port cities of Seattle and Tacoma, as well as produce and cattle from farms on Vashon Island. In the years 1922 to 1938, the VIRGINIA V served as the principal line between Seattle and Tacoma, operating via the West Pass (also known as "Colvos Passage"), which ran between Vashon Island and the Kitsap Peninsula. The S.S. VIRGINIA V is the final operating example of a steamer from the Puget Sound Mosquito Fleet, and it is still in service today. Because of her all-wood construction and steam engine, she has been designated as a National Historic Landmark ship. To learn more about a certain issue, select it from the list below. It is possible to charter the Virginia V as a venue for a variety of events including weddings, holiday parties, business events, birthdays, anniversaries, and other small gatherings. Whether you're hosting a party dockside at our homeport on Lake Union or taking your guests on a tour of Lake Washington and Puget Sound, our historic ship is the ideal location for any event. The ship's rich history and all-wood build immediately endear it to visitors. Any celebration will be more intimate because of the size. Excursions feature breathtaking views of Seattle's skyline and neighboring districts that are likely to leave a lasting effect on those who take part in them.
