The Whitlock Inn will be acquired by James and Kathleen Heilman in May of 2020. A lovely historic home in Marietta, Georgia, has been purchased by the Heilman family who looks forward to preserving the integrity of this wonderful historic property while hosting your special occasions. The Whitlock Inn has been a Marietta icon since its construction in 1900. A private garden for outdoor entertaining, a big courtyard for outdoor partying, as well as an attractive gazebo and garden trellis, are all available to guests. There is also access to the first and second floors of the venue, a bridal suite and groom's lounge, as well as a vendor green room. The ballroom’s French doors overlook the ancient Oak tree with its charming swing, which is listed on the Historic Tree Register. We have continued the neutral colors, bead board, and hardwood floors that make the original home so warm and inviting. Building the first component of what would eventually become Naylor Hall for H.W. Proudfoot and his wife, Euphemia, in the 1840s, Barrington King designed it as a four-room clapboard house with a central fireplace, which was later expanded. Mr. Proudfoot was engaged as an accountant by Mr. King, the son of the city of Roswell's founder, in his recently constructed Roswell Mills facility. Colonel Harrison Broadwell acquired the property in the late 1930s and renamed it Naylor Hall in honor of his wife's family, which is still the name of the building today. Aside from that, he made a number of changes that may still be seen today, including the columns, carved woodwork, and a portico that wraps around the original structure. Naylor Hall is still making history today, well into the twenty-first century, with each and every event that takes place on Canton Street. Lady Naylor Hall, who is 170 years old and a southern beauty, has had her tummy tucked and her thighs tucked in order to greet the millennium. Kacey and Hillery Cecil, Marietta residents, own The Foxglove and its in-house florist, 131 LeFleur. The Foxglove hosts private parties, gatherings, weddings, and receptions and was born out of a desire to see a magnificent old building repaired and revitalized while adding something new and interesting to the square. We've done everything we can to maintain faithful to the building's character and history, including keeping the original brickwork, steel-framed factory windows, and industrial overhead beams. The Foxglove and 131 LeFleur, located at 54 Atlanta Street, are conveniently placed walking distance from the historic Marietta Square. Champagne toasts in the garden courtyard, canapés under the sweeping draperies, and dancing under the original steel beams overhead. The Foxglove oozes the historical ambiance inherent to its Marietta Square setting, having been thoughtfully built with respect for the building's unique charm. The details have an exquisite, slightly industrial sense to them. Plenty of Accommodations The Foxglove can accommodate corporate events, private parties, and gatherings of up to 350 people, but because of our flexible space, we can also accommodate smaller gatherings. We have a private tavern on the second floor that is perfect for any small gathering. Renting this area includes access to our upper alley terrace and all of the furniture in the upstairs space, as well as our upstairs bar, restrooms, prep kitchen, and prep space. As a company, we're in the business of providing people with what they want... and if that includes a massive private event room loaded with dozens of games and cool, tasty beer, then you've arrived at the perfect spot, my friend. As our event space has grown to accommodate up to 300 people, we've held a broad range of events, including corporate meetings, fundraisers, alumni gatherings, class reunions, wedding receptions, baby showers, and the list goes on and on! In addition to a three-vessel, 40 BBL brewhouse, 620 BBL of fermentation space, and 320 BBLs of brite beer storage, we have a 620 BBL of fermentation space. Clarification of all of our beers is accomplished with the help of a GEA centrifuge. Red Hare, like with a small number of other craft breweries, is fortunate in that it has a full-time biochemist and a fully equipped laboratory for quality control. We were the first craft brewery in Georgia to can its beer, and we were the first brewery in the world to use the evercan, an aluminum can with a high recycled content. With a 40-head filler and six-head seamer, our canning line is capable of packaging nearly 480 cases every hour (about 11,520 cans)! It is possible for us to process 50 BBLs of beer per day on our kegging line.
