Thorne and is the only one of its sort on the west coast. The house measures 27,000 square feet and is decorated in the Gothic Tudor style. Thornewood, originally built as a single family property, has been painstakingly restored to its former glory as an elegant country inn. Explore the hallways where presidents and luminaries have trod before you. Presidents William Howard Taft and Theodore Roosevelt stayed in our presidential suite on their visit to Washington. Explore the grounds, which include a beautiful half-acre sunken English perennial garden. American Lake is a lovely place to swim, fish, and boat. Take pleasure in watching spectacular sunsets from the hand-tiled lakeside patio. Stained glass window insets from the Middle Ages, as well as antique furniture and artworks, decorate the mansion. Wedding celebrations often begin outdoors in the Oakside Courtyard, a landscaped space set beneath towering oak trees with views over wetlands and gardens, before moving into the club's 33,000-square-foot clubhouse for receptions. The clubhouse sits alongside a golf course designed by Peter L. H. Thompson, running through old-growth forest and water features, and includes Embers Restaurant, which serves Northwest-inspired cuisine from an outdoor deck overlooking the course. Lake Lawrence Community Club occupies a lodge built in 1923 as Edwards Pavilion, when Louie Armstrong and Amber Reichel raised the building from logs felled on the property itself and Frank Noreen constructed its fireplace. The pavilion served Edwards Resort, a fishing and recreation getaway on the lake, and hosted dances there for decades before the resort closed in 1973. The lodge and its grounds then became part of Lake Lawrence Community Club, which now opens the space to the wider community for weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, family reunions, and other private events. The lodge hosts guests with 38 banquet tables, 4 round tables, and 310 folding chairs, along with two separate dressing areas for the bridal party and groom. A full kitchen equipped with a professional range, microwave, 100-cup coffee maker, three refrigerators, and a beverage cooler supports on-site catering. The parking lot holds 300 vehicles under supervised parking, and motorhomes and RVs are welcome to stay overnight. Rentals run from Friday setup through a Saturday event day and a Sunday morning cleanup, giving wedding parties and event hosts a full weekend at the lake.

Lacey Community Center occupies a vaulted-ceiling banquet hall within Woodland Creek Community Park, its hardwood floors and wall of doors opening onto a terrace that overlooks a small pond on the park grounds. The building's principal room can be partitioned into three sections and accommodates up to 280 guests with banquet seating or 360 with theater-style seating, suiting it to receptions, banquets, conferences, and community gatherings. Two additional meeting rooms, which can be combined into one larger space, hold 80 to 120 guests and are equipped with audiovisual equipment and wireless internet for presentations and smaller functions. A fully equipped kitchen, an adjoining lobby, and city staff assistance with table and chair setup round out the facility, which is operated by the City of Lacey's Parks, Culture and Recreation Department.
