  Scott has been a chef for the last 18 years and has worked at various restaurants in New York City that have earned a Michelin star. Some of these places include Jean-Georges flagship restaurant on Columbus circle and Charlie Palmer's Aureole. His most recent position was as executive chef at Sutton Inn, where he was awarded two Michelin recommendations, a four-star rating from the Daily News, and was named one of Manhattan's top 10 American restaurants by OpenTable for five years in a row. In 1971, we constructed the first version of this home on property that belonged to the family... I have been a permanent resident of this area ever since that time. In 1989, we completely refurbished the home and expanded on to it in order to turn it into a seven-room inn that is light, clean, and spacious. The structure has always had an expansive covered wrap-around porch on the east and north sides. This porch, combined with the other common spaces and lawns, provides sufficient room for visitors to enjoy an evening of unhurried activity. As a result of our location at the very western tip of the island, we are privy to some of the most breathtaking scenery, panoramas, beach breezes, and sunsets in all of Martha's Vineyard.

  THE ROOM OF THE BLACKSMITH We used to have a blacksmith shop in our private dining room, which was originally part of the working quarry. The forge, which was the hearth of the blacksmith, was where granite cutting tools were created, repaired, and sharpened. The Blacksmith Room is decorated with wrought-iron chandeliers, skylights, and vintage sconces that were imported from Europe. When set up as a king-style table, the room can comfortably accommodate 22 guests, or up to 30 people when set up as 5 tables of 6. THE ROOM WITH THE STONES There are large dark wood bamboo dividers separating this private function space from the main dining room, creating a spacious event space with stone-walled cathedral ceilings, wall mounted wine racks, and floor to ceiling windows.   We discussed the possibility of changing one of our three pillars, "Food," to "Cooking" in a meeting with our graphic designer. The goal was to make a more aesthetically and auditorily unified term, but this proposed adjustment couldn't reflect the core and scope of "Food" Because our concept extends much beyond cooking. "Food" encapsulates the warmth, humor, and love shared with family and friends over a meal. When you take the first mouthful of a new dish or ingredient, you get a flutter of excitement in your stomach. Food is the medium through which we share tales and cultivate new friendships. The richness and flavor that we feel through sensory explosion is due to the farmer who devotes his or her days and nights to tending to crops and cattle. The scientist is the one who comes up with new strategies to keep agricultural practices sustainable and impactful. The mother and father are the ones who work numerous jobs to provide a dinner for their family. To put it another way, "food" is more than just something we eat. So, what exactly is PAGU? There are intangible qualities of PAGU that, like "Food," cannot be expressed eloquently or accurately in words. It's not just a restaurant. It's more than a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
