MacArthur Park Restaurant and Bar occupies California Historical Landmark No. 895 at 27 University Avenue in Palo Alto — a building constructed during World War I as a Y.W.C.A. Hostess House, designed to serve as a safe meeting place for women and children visiting troops training at nearby Camp Fremont in Menlo Park. The structure has since been preserved as a landmark and transformed into a full-service American restaurant and event venue steps from the Caltrain station. The restaurant offers five private event spaces — the Veteran's Room (100 seated), the Julia Morgan Room (40 seated), Camp Fremont (30 seated), and an outdoor Patio (100 seated, 150 standing) — plus the option to buy out the full dining room for gatherings of up to 550.
