Plantation home at Tanglewood Plantation is a genuine example of the Greek Revival style, which was popular in the 1830s. The home is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places due to the historical significance of the building and the fact that it has been preserved. In the past, Senator Ed "Cotton" Smith called the plantation house home, and President Theodore Roosevelt stayed there at one point. For the purpose of preparing food, there is a sizable catering kitchen that is at your disposal. This kitchen is equipped with refrigerators, stoves, ovens, hot boxes, large prep tables, and an ice maker that can hold 400 pounds. For weddings, proposals, and private events, the Inn offers three adjoining spaces: the Grand Terrace, a 50-by-120-foot open-air terrace overlooking the Blue Ridge foothills; the Covered Arbor, a sheltered brick-patio space that keeps the surrounding landscape close while offering weather protection; and the Wine Bar, an indoor room with a fireplace and mountain views.
