Meridian Valley Country Club opened its doors for the first time on July 1, 1967. Despite the fact that there was just a temporary clubhouse and only nine of the 18 holes were available for play on that Saturday morning, those who teed it up did so again and again. Despite the fact that the fairway grass was well on its way to reaching full maturity, the theme of the day was "Take No Divots" since all shots were needed to be taken from tees. The opening day regulation had no effect on the level of competitiveness on the first day. The second nine holes, as well as the permanent clubhouse, were dedicated in May 1968 with a similar amount of hoopla. Several substantial modifications have been made to the golf course throughout the years, including irrigation, drainage, and a large number of flowering trees and plants. Red Barn Farms occupies a working century farm in the Palouse region of southeastern Washington, twelve miles south of Pullman. Established in 1901 by Christine and Florent Meyer, the property has passed through four generations of the same family; current stewards Ty and Kay Meyer converted the farm into an event venue in 2007. The centerpiece is the original barn, its timber frame built from fir harvested on nearby Moscow Mountain more than a century ago. Renovations added a new floor and foundation, repaired the original joists, and introduced lighting and indoor restrooms, while leaving the timber framing and barn wood exposed throughout the reception space. Cafe lights and lanterns hang overhead, and the barn's doors open onto a covered front patio that doubles as a second dance floor. Guests move from a terraced ceremony area overlooking the rolling hills, entered through the barn's grand double doors, into the barn itself for dinner and dancing, with an adjacent courtyard and patio extending the layout for cocktail hour, yard games, and larger gatherings. Four acres of landscaped grounds, including lavender and wheat fields, surround the buildings, and a separate structure called The Suites provides wedding-party preparation space, a kitchen, and meeting rooms.

Bateau, french for “boat,” is both a nod to our first restaurant, Boat Street Café, as well as an attempt to reimagine the American steak house around quality, sustainability and animal welfare. With the name About Bateau, which comes from the French word for "boat," we're paying homage to our first restaurant, Boat Street Café, while also attempting to reimagine the American steakhouse in the context of quality, sustainability, and animal welfare. Traditional cattle breeds, renowned for their flavor, are the centerpiece of Bateau's whole animal menu. These cattle breeds are selected and owned by Bateau and cared for by Pure Country, a Food Alliance certified ranch located in Moses Lake, Washington. All of our cows are raised in a humane manner, fed only grass, and, most importantly, finished only on pasture. Bateau's beef is dry aged for a minimum of 21 days before being butchered on site by Scott Johnson, the butcher for the restaurant. This is certainly not the quickest, easiest, or most cost-effective method of preparing beef, but we believe it is the most effective. Along with Chef Taylor Thornhill's inventive dishes, which frequently include foraged and fermented ingredients, specialty cuts are sold by the pound or by the quantity of meat available. In addition to steakhouse classics done right, such as twice-fried frites and buttery mashed potatoes, the menu includes iconic cocktails and an extensive bottle list. Swantown Inn is an 1887 Queen Anne/Eastlake Victorian Mansion in Olympia, Washington. It's listed on both the city and state historical registers. The mansion pairs its Victorian architecture with modern comforts, including room-controlled heat and air conditioning, EV charging, and Wi-Fi throughout. The inn has hosted weddings on-site for more than 25 years. Its current owners, Nathan and Casey, have spent over two decades focused on smaller and elopement-style celebrations. Non-denominational ordained officiants are on staff to help couples build a personalized ceremony.
