The Lotus Room is a small private dining room at the back of the lounge, with wrought-iron French doors leading to it. The room pays respect to Vietnam's emblem flower with seating for up to 18 guests and is highlighted by Jonas Wickman artwork in soothing tropical tones. On request, Culinary Director Nicole Routhier and Executive Chef Hassan Obaye will construct exclusive tasting meals with wine pairings. Le Colonial, nestled in the center of one of America's largest and most varied cities, is a celebration of the seductive spirit and vibrant flavors of 1920s French Colonial Southeast Asia. In a luxury escapist hideaway in The River Oaks District, famous restaurateurs Rick Wahlstedt and Joe King deliver on exceptional attention to detail in a bygone period of refinement and opulence. A luxurious downstairs dining area is bordered by a Parisian-style sidewalk café seating, which is embellished with period photos, overhead fans, and leather banquettes. A dramatic stairwell leads to a second-floor lounge with a huge bar, mahogany millwork, and soft seating, ideal for cocktails and light cuisine. The west veranda is surrounded by custom louvered shutters, while an extra terrace on the north side is totally enclosed and has additional dining tables. The Lotus Room, which seats up to 14 for private meals and wine tastings led by our on-site Sommelier, is centered by a mural made by Swedish muralist Jonas Wickman in warm tropical tones. Nicole Routhier and Hassan Obaye, the Executive Chef Team, have reinterpreted regional culinary traditions and incorporated contemporary touches to create a menu that perfectly blends classic Vietnamese comfort dishes with exquisite French-Asian fusions.
