The History of Rockwood Manor Retreats and Events After leaving Washington, D.C., Carolyn Gangwer Caughey (pronounced "Coy") traveled west along the Old Conduit Road (now MacArthur Boulevard) to her newly purchased estate near Great Falls. Mountains of tall cedars, poplars, and oaks cover rock-studded hillsides that gently slope down to a stream valley. A name for Mrs. Caughey's country estate was suggested to her by the natural elements almost immediately: Rockwood. Carolyn was a well-to-do socialite whose ancestors traced their roots back to the American Revolution. She was also a successful businesswoman who had a passion for architecture and a keen eye for profit in the real estate market. According to Who's Who in the Nation's Capital, she is "active in civic betterment, particularly in relation to better-constructed and better-planned homes," among other things. It also mentions that she was responsible for designing one of the largest apartment buildings in the nation's capital at the time. As a result, many of her close friends were not surprised when she revealed that she had designed and personally supervised the construction of her new home. Visiting auctions and antique dealers in the area on a regular basis assisted her in the furnishing of her country estate. Celebrations This historic manor house, which can accommodate up to 120 guests for a ceremony on the wooded Patio, followed by cocktails on the Veranda and a sit-down dinner in the rustic elegance of Brooke Hall, is the focal point of our property. When the party is over, the Hoover Hall ballroom and festive Sun Porch are transformed into a two-level party space for dessert and dancing. Flexible floor plans allow you to personalize your guests' experience and the flow of your event, allowing you to create an event that is completely unique. The cost of a single day event ranges from $1,660 to $4,600. Please see the rate sheets linked to below for more information. Meetings Because of its close proximity to Bethesda, Tysons, the 270 corridor, and Washington, DC, Rockwood Manor is an excellent choice for your next business meeting. In our six flexible meeting spaces, we can accommodate groups ranging from 12 to 80 people. Alternatively, you can book the entire house for your conference, wellness retreat, or strategic planning sessions. Take, for example, a strategic planning session for your organization that is inspired by a group hike to Great Falls, the rushing Potomac River, and the gentle swaying of the trees. With Umaya, you can enjoy the serenity and simplicity of a Western-style beer garden combined with traditional Asian plates and a dining experience that is both authentic and modern. As the name suggests, Umaya DC specializes in the ever-popular Japanese "street food," with well-seasoned chefs putting their own spins on time-honored dishes. Classic dishes such as sushi and ramen, as well as authentic Izakaya masterpieces, can be found on the restaurant's menu. Umaya will delight your senses in every way, from the refreshing décor to the Asian comfort food and the scent of the Izakaya grill.. Umaya brings a much-needed Izakaya presence to the nation's capital, which was previously lacking. It is similar to tapas restaurants in that they encourage guests to share and enjoy their time together over a few drinks, which is always the case at an izakaya restaurant. A wide selection of beer and sake will be available at Umaya, which will complement the relaxed and peaceful atmosphere of the restaurant. Every few months, the seasonal menu will be updated, but favorite staples will remain on the menu. In Japanese, the word 'Umaya' literally translates as a 'place that tastes good.' In contrast to your traditional upscale sushi restaurant, Umaya is a place where you can relax and enjoy yourself after work, on weekends, or whenever you need to relax and unwind. Our team at Umaya Izakaya is ready to assist you if you are looking for a spectacular space to host your next family occasion or business gathering in the greater Los Angeles area. Designed to accommodate groups of 20 to 100 people, our private sections are available for rent. Parties of up to 119 people seated and 284 people standing can be accommodated in the entire restaurant, including the al fresco dining area. Cocktail parties, corporate events, holiday parties, wedding rehearsal dinners, brunches, and almost any other type of event you can think of are all things we enjoy doing at our establishment. You can turn your dreams into a reality by coming to Umaya.

The French Riviera has always been a meeting point for people, cultures, and culinary traditions. With such abundance and diversity, we founded FIG & OLIVE to capture the essence of the French Riviera, which is built on a foundation of genuine ingredients, a keen understanding of flavor, and an ambiance that celebrates the love of life and culture that are synonymous with the region. Fig & Olive's cuisine is guided by a philosophy that starts, first and foremost, with a love and respect for the ingredients that are used in the preparation of the dishes. Every dish, whether it's paper-thin carpaccios, a fruity blood orange infused olive oil, a supple burrata, or an aged balsamic vinegar, is served without compromising on quality or taste. Taking inspiration from the region's love of premium-quality olive oil, we cook with minimal use of heavy sauces and creams, instead focusing on the fresh flavors that are essential to the Mediterranean Diet. The moment you walk into one of our restaurants, you will be greeted by an abundance of natural light, outdoor terraces, the scent of rosemary, and music that has been carefully selected. Every effort is made to ensure that our guests feel pampered and special during their stay. The life of luxury is represented by us, but we present it in a way that is both approachable and effortless. In our bar, lounges, or dining rooms, you can get away from it all with a delicious cocktail, a wine list selected by a sommelier, and a culinary journey unlike any other. Bienvenue.

Farmers & Distillers would like to welcome you. NEW DC MASK POLICY IN EFFECT MASKS ARE REQUIRED FOR THIS EVENT. Unless you are seated for a meal in our dining room, we require all guests and staff to wear masks indoors in accordance with current local government rules and regulations. Please keep in mind that this applies to both guests and employees who have received vaccinations. North Dakota Farmers Union, led by Mark Watne, has opened Farmers & Distillers, the state's newest and most diverse restaurant. The restaurant is a collaboration between our restaurateurs, Mike Vucurevich and Dan Simons, and the more than 47,000 farmers who make up North Dakota Farmers Union, our farmer-owners. We opened Founding Farmers and Farmers Fishers Bakers because we wanted to bring diners closer to the source of their food, whether that be through geography or through knowledge of the food. Here at Farmers & Distillers, we are continuing the tradition while also raising the bar by shortening the food supply chain, increasing demand, and bringing American family-farm products closer to the plate and the glass. Whether it's the grain that goes into our bread, the barley that goes into our beer, or the dairy that goes into our butter, the stronger the farmer, the better the food, and the tastier the drink is going to be. Farmers & Distillers would like to welcome you. Farmers & Distillers is rooted in George Washington's American industriousness and keen eye for opportunity, which are ingrained in the very foundation of this country and in every aspect of the company. As we navigated our way north, we kept asking ourselves, "What would George do?" in terms of flavor, cooking technique, and atmosphere. President Washington served as our true north. The dishes at Farmers & Distillers showcase his well-documented passions for European cooking techniques as well as pioneering American flavors, and we invite you to join us on a diverse culinary journey that we imagine he would have enjoyed. President Washington's approach to leveraging the lands and water at his beloved estate, Mount Vernon, as well as the skills and abilities of those in his immediate vicinity, directed us to pay homage to our Mt Vernon Square neighborhood, which included the immigrant settlers of yesterday and the Chinatown neighborhood of today, as well as the skills and abilities of those in his immediate vicinity. This incredible journey has led us to the creation of our one-of-a-kind offerings, which we are thrilled to share with you.
