The Great Hall, a New York City landmark located in lower Manhattan, is an Italian neo-renaissance masterpiece that is a New York City Landmark. This magnificent space, designed by Benjamin Wistar Morris and completed in 1921, boasts 65-foot-high ceilings, soaring marble columns, magnificent inlaid floors, and murals painted by Ezra Winter, among other features. With its four-generation tradition of cuisine and service, the venue is the ideal complement to any elegant social, charitable, or corporate event. This Italian neo-Renaissance inspired masterpiece, designed by architect Benjamin Wistar Morris and completed in 1921, boasts 65 foot high ceilings, soaring marble columns, and magnificent inlaid floors. The Cunard Building was designed by architect Benjamin Wistar Morris and completed in 1921. The grandly presented maritime theme emphasizes the power and reach of the Cunard Line when its new headquarters opened in 1919, at a time when New York had grown to become the world's largest city and busiest port, as well as the world's largest city and busiest port. After passing through the opulent vestibule and great hall, which was inspired by ancient Roman baths and where transatlantic voyages on liners like the Queen Mary and the two Queen Elizabeths were booked, visitors are greeted by a grand staircase. A decorative program centered on shipping themes was developed in collaboration with muralist Ezra Winter, and as a result, the lobby is adorned with starfish, seahorses, shells, and sirens, as well as the Nina, Pinta, and Santa Maria, three sailing ships used by Christopher Columbus on his voyages to the New World.

An Unrivaled Setting for Private Events Cipriani South Street at the Battery Maritime Building is the new home to New York’s most exciting and important gatherings. The renaissance of this magnificent architectural treasure was led by the internationally acclaimed design house of Thierry Despont, whose other well-known historical restoration projects include the Ritz Hotel in Paris, the Statue of Liberty, the Carlyle Hotel and the Woolworth Building in New York City among others. An abundance of unique details have been beautifully preserved throughout the building including the expansive patterned glass ceiling in the Great Hall, the Guastavino tile arches of the loggia, hundreds of mullioned glass windows, and exposed period ironwork. The second floor events complex includes a private arrival foyer and grand staircase, two separate pre-function rooms, and the 9,000 square foot Great Hall which accommodates up to 800 seated guests. Windowed pre-function spaces filled with natural light offer separate spaces for cocktails, ceremonies and breakout meetings, including a rare outdoor loggia spanning the full length of the building facade. Two private green rooms, each with panoramic views of the East River, complete the scene.

The Museum of Jewish Heritage is a versatile venue for gala dinners, conferences, luncheons, film/commercial shoots, performances, theater presentations, and everything in between. We also offer customized event experiences for significant life celebrations such as engagements, weddings, mitzvahs and memorials. All nine of our distinctive event spaces are housed in the Robert M. Morgenthau Wing, an 82,000-square-foot addition unveiled in 2003, while the hexagonal Core building housing the Museum’s main exhibitions opened in 1997. Both buildings were designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Kevin Roche and John Dinkeloo with interiors by Patrick Gallagher and exterior plaza and landscaping by Olin Studio.
