During your stay at the Lord Thompson Manor, we will provide you and your guests with a private environment in which you can use the Manor and Cottage House for your Rehearsal Dinner, Late Night Gathering, Spa Treatment, Wedding Reception, After Party, and Farewell Breakfast over the weekend. In order to make each of these Wedding weekend events truly extraordinary, we believe that four key elements must be present: food, staff, on-site planning and coordination, and romance. When it comes to a wedding reception at the Lord Thompson Manor, the flow is designed to create a party atmosphere rather than a traditional "sit-down" reception style. Starting with a Champagne toast, which is typically held on our Side Garden Balcony following your ceremony, your reception will get underway! Following the toast, cocktails and passed hors d'oeuvres are served throughout the Manor, encouraging your guests to mingle and explore the grounds of the estate. Your guests will be seated in the Dining Rooms for a dinner that will include our Chef's Duo Entree Plate. After only about an hour, we begin the first dance, Cake Cutting, or any other formalities you wish to include, in order to get your guests up and out of their dining tables and into the Conservatory for the reception. For the remainder of the Reception, the Music takes it away from you. Cake, coffee, and dessert are served at Stations, eliminating the need for your guests to return to their formal tables after the meal is finished. Your guests will be active participants throughout the evening rather than passive observers at their tables, which is exactly how we like our parties.

Ann Howard at The Bond Ballroom occupies the penthouse floor of Hartford's historic Hotel Bond building, a landmark originally constructed in 1913 and expanded in 1921. After decades of varied use, the ballroom reopened as an event venue in 2001 and has operated under its current ownership since 2017, bringing award-winning catering and customized event planning to one of the city's most distinctive spaces. The 5,000-square-foot Grand Ballroom features three walls of floor-to-ceiling windows with views across the Hartford cityscape and the Connecticut State Capitol, a crystal chandelier, and a 20-by-40-foot dance floor — one of the largest in the state. The newly renovated Arches Cocktail Room accommodates up to 300 guests for pre-reception gatherings or standalone events. An on-site chapel provides a ceremony option within the same building. Established in 1954, the Guilford Yacht Club sits on a secluded property along the Connecticut shoreline at the mouth of the West River, with views of the Guilford Harbor and Long Island Sound. The grounds feature a gracious lawn, an outdoor patio, and a large reception area with hardwood floors — all less than a mile from Guilford's historic town Green. The club hosts weddings, corporate gatherings, and private celebrations for members and non-members alike. Events can be held indoors for up to 160 guests or under a tent on the grounds for up to 300. The property accommodates ceremonies on the Great Lawn overlooking the water, and a bridal suite with a private bathroom is available for wedding parties. Only one event takes place per day, with an on-site event manager included with every rental. Catering is provided exclusively by Gourmet Galley, which has coordinated and catered custom events for over 20 years.

The Riverview Room offers a flexible secondary space appropriate for rehearsal dinners or morning-after brunches, and an on-site hospitality suite rounds out the offering. The Lace Factory partners with Cloud Nine Catering for on-site food and beverage service, and maintains a connection with the Essex Steam Train, giving guests the option to arrive via historic Pullman coach — an unusually distinctive touch for a Connecticut wedding or event.

There are gender neutral restrooms located on the floor. There are two access points including one directly on Wall Street. Our spaces are walking distance to the East Norwalk Station on the Metro North Line. All spaces come with a range of optional amenities including furniture rental, catering, paid parking, and audio services.
