Hill-Stead Museum is a National Historic Landmark set on 152 acres in Farmington, Connecticut. The Colonial Revival estate was designed in 1901 by Theodate Pope Riddle — one of the first licensed female architects in the United States — in collaboration with the renowned firm McKim, Mead & White. Theodate transformed Hill-Stead into a public museum upon her death in 1946, preserving the house, its Impressionist art collection, and the surrounding landscape exactly as she intended. The estate offers six distinct event spaces suited to a wide range of private celebrations, from intimate indoor gatherings to sweeping lawn events for up to 350 guests. Outdoor venues include the West Lawn and Veranda with panoramic views of the Litchfield Hills, the former grass tennis court enclosed by handcrafted stone walls, and the Beatrix Farrand-designed Sunken Garden in bloom from spring through autumn. Indian Hill Country Club is a private member-owned club established in 1899 in Newington, Connecticut. Set on 111 Golf Street, the club centers on an 18-hole championship course whose design traces through three architects — John Duncan Dunn (1899), Robert D. Pryde (1912), and Robert J. Ross (1924) — producing a traditional New England layout of undulating terrain, native grasses, and a challenging par-70 routing. The club offers a private reception space with a wall of windows overlooking the course, an outdoor ceremony area beneath a white gazebo on the lawn, and a terrace for cocktail receptions. The facility accommodates up to 225 guests and provides in-house catering for weddings, private dinners, and other events. Both live bands and DJs are permitted, with music allowed indoors.
