No general admission fee is required to visit the Museum of Photographic Arts (MOPA), which is located in historic Balboa Park, and visitors are encouraged to make a donation in lieu of paying admission. MOPA is made accessible to everyone through this voluntary contribution policy, which is based on how much one wishes to contribute. The parking lots along Space Theater Way are available for patrons, and on-street parking is available along Park Blvd. Because parking can be difficult during peak hours or during events, additional parking lots are strategically placed throughout Balboa Park to accommodate visitors. THE SAN DIEGO HISTORY CENTER, located in historic Balboa Park, offers entertaining exhibitions that will complement any event, party, or celebration. Our museum features a large Atrium, Theater, Conference Room, and nine galleries in a lovely and expansive setting. Weddings, cocktail parties, social hours, meetings, and fundraisers are all possible at the museum. An event at the San Diego History Center means celebrating and enjoying the company of coworkers, friends, and family while surrounded by our exquisite location. It is strongly recommended, but not needed, to hire a wedding organizer. You are investing in professional experience and peace of mind by doing so. Weddings are not coordinated on-site at the History Center. We're happy to collaborate with a trusted network of Preferred Caterers who are required to provide food, beverage, and bar service for your event.
