888 BANQUET & EVENT SPACE: China Live is an interactive culinary and cultural destination located at the entrance to San Francisco's Chinatown, offering a comprehensive look into Greater Chinese cuisine. Our goal is to demystify Chinese ingredients and cuisine while also educating guests about the country's rich history and cultural heritage. China Live can accommodate small gatherings of 10 individuals to large reception-style events with up to 825 people and many sensory experiences. MARKET RESTAURANT: Our first-floor restaurant offers a seasonal menu that changes daily and is prepared at eight specialized stations that combine traditional Chinese and Western culinary technology. A major dining space serves as the focal point, with handcrafted seats and tables made from reclaimed Chinese elm in China. These exhibition kitchens, which have plenty of bar seating, allow you to get a closer look at the skilled chefs at work. The wok station combines European and Chinese flair, with a state-of-the-art Hestan range on one side and an extensive custom-designed wok line by Joe Yick, a third-generation family business in San Francisco, on the other. The charcuterie station features a deep wood-fired oven, similar to a pizza oven in concept, but serving classic roast duck and chicken instead. DESIGN: A Chinese clay oven, similar to an Indian tandoor, is a three-foot tall receptacle resembling an enormous vase that sustains low heat over charcoal fire for an extended period of time, suitable for low and slow roasting pork. Dumplings, in particular, scream Chinese cuisine. This station, which serves as the restaurant's focal point, is equipped with enormous cast iron pans for cooking pot stickers and a variety of steamed and pan-fried dumplings. Finally, a dessert bar to quench your sweet desire.

The Basque Country is a mountainous region that spans the border between France and Spain and is home to a culture that dates back hundreds of years and a cuisine that has been passed down through generations. Even Patricia Wells referred to it as "one of the few locations in France that possesses spice" when she wrote about it. Piperade, which was opened in downtown San Francisco in 2002 by Chef Gerald Hirigoyen and his wife Cameron, is responsible for bringing these traditional flavors to the area. The proprietors of the establishment call the cuisine served there "West Coast Basque Cuisine," and they say it bridges the gap between French, Spanish, and Basque culinary traditions by emphasizing the use of fresh, locally sourced ingredients in each of those cuisines. The restaurant Piperade, which was given its name after the traditional Basque dish consisting of simmering peppers, tomatoes, and garlic and topped with slices of ham and an egg that had been poached, serves delectable dishes in an intimate setting that is ideal for date nights, business meetings, or gatherings with family and friends. Nisei is Chef David Yoshimura's first restaurant after holding the position of Chef de Cuisine at the Michelin-starred Californios restaurant in San Francisco. The restaurant is located in the Russian Hill district of San Francisco. The restaurant Nisei is a celebration of the Japanese-American ancestry of its owner, Chef David Yoshimura. The tasting menu is inspired by the cuisine of California, which is known as Washoku. Washoku, which literally translates to "harmony of food," is the Japanese equivalent of "home cooking." The art of Washoku centers on a set of guiding principles that emphasize harmony in color, sense of smell and taste, and respect for the ingredients used in food preparation. To complement the experience, Nisei offers a selection of drinks from all over the world that have been painstakingly chosen by the General Manager and Sommelier, Ian Cobb. The Chinese Culture Center of San Francisco (CCC) is a nonprofit arts and cultural organization founded in 1965, occupying 20,000 square feet on the third floor of the Hilton Hotel at the junction of the Financial District and historic Chinatown. Established during the Civil Rights Movement to combat racism and displacement in Chinatown, CCC opened its Kearny Street site in 1973 as a landmark concession to the growing movement in Chinatown around community land use. The center offers three primary event spaces across its main location at 750 Kearny Street: a 299-seat auditorium, a 2,935-square-foot gallery, and the Him Mark Lai Learning Center — making it well suited for large performances and screenings, art-forward receptions, educational programs, and community gatherings. OUR STORY: Del Popolo began operations as a mobile pizzeria in May 2012, operating out of a glass-enclosed shipping container on the back of a Freightliner truck and serving Neapolitan-inspired pizza. In November 2015, we inaugurated our brick-and-mortar restaurant, which serves the same naturally-leavened, wood-fired pizza that we have been obsessing over since 2012, as well as market-driven antipasti and a carefully curated list of wine and beer selections. Our pizza truck is still on the streets of San Francisco, and we are happy to offer you the option of eating your pizza in a chair if you would prefer not to stand up. With a glass of wine, of course. Come and spend some time with us! THE GARDEN: Private and heated, The Garden is an outdoor dining room located just behind Del Popolo that can accommodate up to 100 people. It is available for sitting lunches and dinners for up to 40 guests or standing receptions for up to 50 guests throughout the year. MAIN DINING ROOM: Tuesday through Sunday evenings, Del Popolo's dining room is available for private parties to rent. We can accommodate up to 60 people sitting and 75 people reception-style. RESTAURANT + GARDEN BUYOUT: Monday through Sunday, Del Popolo is available for a full restaurant buyout at a discounted rate.
