Kirtland Country Club occupies the former Leo Doro Farms, the estate of Mrs. Henry A. Everett, whose 1910 stone mansion serves today as the Club's Tudor-style Clubhouse. Stockholders purchased the property in 1920, and the Club formally opened on July 9, 1921. A fire destroyed the original Clubhouse in 1975; it was rebuilt and reopened the following year, then renovated again in 2008 to add the Club Room and restore the West Porch's fireplace and French doors. A private, member-owned club in Willoughby, Ohio, Kirtland hosts wedding ceremonies and receptions either inside the Clubhouse or on the lawn overlooking its formal gardens. The Clubhouse accommodates up to 250 guests, and the lawn up to 500. The Club's Catering & Events Manager oversees menu selection, vendor coordination, and reception timelines, and the Club also welcomes couples' own independent wedding planners.
