Guests can appreciate our spacious atmosphere, which is encircled by glass paneled French windows that open out onto the Lincoln Park Conservatory, which is located in the center of Chicago's Lincoln Park. Bring a favorite bistro chair up to a table topped with crisp butcher paper. Listen to the crackle of a freshly sliced baguette. Take in the aromas of Onion Soup Au Gratin, Steak Frites, and Chicken Grand-Mére, among other dishes. Choose wine from our ancient rolling wine cart with care. Take a taste of Chocolate Mousse or Profiteroles to satisfy your sweet cravings. Private Parties Just outside the Belden-Stratford, Mon Ami Gabi is a pleasant and welcoming café with a cozy ambience and limited outside dining. We can now accommodate groups of up to 50 people in our private dining rooms, or up to 150 people if the entire restaurant is purchased. Weddings Our French bistro is the ideal location for tying the knot. We provide the ideal location for cocktail parties and seated dinners, with an intimate dining room, stunning outdoor patio, and access to the Belden-Stratford lobby. Off Site Catering Mon Ami Gabi is happy to cater off-site events for groups of all sizes. Passed appetizers such as Mini Lobster Rolls are available, as well as sandwiches and typical French entrées. Stuart began receiving requests for photoshoots and small parties which led him to the conclusion that this space was too special to keep to himself! “Love Piccolo, Love!” Gussie's is a project of passion inspired by co-owner David Thate's love of Italian cooking and serving friends and family. The inspiration of the restaurant comes from his grandmother Augusta “Gussie". For Thate, recounting the time being in the kitchen with grandma, helping her throw dinner parties for friends and family was always the best time. As Thate grew, he took what he learned not only from his own experiences with Grandma Gussie, but also his great aunts and his own travels to Italy. Gussie's Handmade Italian brings all those experiences together. The goal is to bring the joy of dining together to you by using the freshest ingredients and freshly made traditional Italian pastas.
