Wedding ceremonies, receptions, parties, and seminars can be held in the Athenaeum in a dramatic and unique setting that can be tailored to your individual needs. Upstairs galleries may accommodate up to 125 guests standing or 80 guests seated at tables. For a ceremony, the delightful courtyard offers a lovely outdoor location for up to 50 people to stand or sit. The Athenaeum structure and courtyard are included in all of our rentals. ​As always, we will be pleased to discuss your specific needs. Rental requests are handled on a case-by-case basis. Viewings of the Athenaeum can be arranged in advance or during gallery hours. The gallery is open from noon to four on Thursday through Sunday. On holidays, the Athenaeum is closed. Membership of the Northern Virginia Fine Arts Association at the Supporter level ($100) or higher is required to rent out the Athenaeum. The Rules and Regulations for Renting the Athenaeum, the Release of Liability for Renting the Athenaeum, and an event information form must all be read and signed by the renter. The return of a completed contract, a 50% payment, and a $750 refundable security deposit completes a reservation.

Sports Center of Richmond (SCOR) is a climate-controlled sports campus in Richmond, Virginia, built around indoor and outdoor soccer fields and a family-friendly atmosphere for recreation and athletic play. Beyond its adult and youth soccer leagues, camps, and the nationally renowned Lil' Kickers program for children as young as 18 months, SCOR hosts a full slate of private events through its Parties & Events program. Kids' birthday parties combine field games such as soccer, dodgeball, and kickball with an inflatable obstacle course and a dedicated Party Zone, with setup and cleanup handled by SCOR's coaching staff. The campus also hosts special occasions such as Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, graduations, retirements, and milestone birthdays, along with holiday celebrations, corporate meetings and retreats, and team-building events. The Ashby Inn & Restaurant occupies a cluster of historic buildings in the village of Paris, Virginia, at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the Shenandoah wine country. The main house began in 1829 as a four-room residence built by local blacksmith Manley Pierce, with additions made during the Civil War; Confederate generals Stonewall Jackson and Joseph E. Johnston are recorded as having slept on its original front porch in 1861. John and Roma Sherman opened the property as an inn and restaurant in 1984, and it has been owned by Charles and Jackie Leopold since 2005. Weddings and private events draw on several distinct spaces around the property, from the Ashby Inn Reception Hall, a converted 1891 school building with an open concept and handmade stained glass windows, to the covered Terrace, the sunny Porch, the fireside Tap Room, the Upper Dining Room, and the back Lawn & Garden, which can be tented for receptions or left open for lawn games and a fire pit. Ceremonies can be held indoors in the Reception Hall or outside on the property's lawns. Weddings at The Ashby are tailored individually to each couple, with food and drink drawn from neighboring artisan producers. Opened in 1927 as the Mosque Theater, Altria Theater is one of Richmond's most recognizable buildings, designed by architects Marcellus Wright, Sr., Charles M. Robinson, and Charles Custer Robinson in an Egyptian Revival style with towering minarets and desert murals. Built under the Shriners and later purchased by the City of Richmond in 1940, the theater underwent a major renovation in 1994-95 that restored its original architectural grandeur. Today the theater seats up to 3,600 guests for concerts, Broadway productions, and other live entertainment, and its private event spaces have hosted weddings, galas, trade shows, and corporate functions. The Grand Ballroom, decorated with the sweeping columns and ornamental detail original to the building, accommodates up to 800 guests seated or 1,400 standing. Monroe Park, an outdoor space overlooking the theater's facade, holds up to 600 guests seated or 1,000 standing, and multiple lobbies, lounges, and parlors throughout the building offer additional gathering space for smaller functions such as holiday parties, baby showers, and family reunions.

Breaux Vineyards is a family-owned winery and event estate in Purcellville, Virginia, set between the foothills of the Blue Ridge and Short Hill Mountains. The 404-acre property includes 104 acres of vineyard, first planted in 1985 and opened to the public by the Breaux family in April 1997. The estate's events pavilion centers on The Acadia, a room for up to 150 guests with crystal chandeliers, a large fireplace, and panoramic vineyard views, complete with a catering kitchen and bridal suite. Beneath it, The Cork & Key offers an underground cellar space with its own fireplace and built-in bar. Outdoors, the estate's terraces overlook the vines and can host tented ceremonies and receptions for as many as 400 guests, while smaller gatherings can be arranged on the tasting room's patio or garden pergolas. Concord Manor is a historic estate in Concord, Virginia, built in 1909 on the foundation of an 1845 home and restored in 1985. The property retains the high ceilings and stateliness of its original construction, along with notable period furnishings that include a secretary's desk dating to the 1700s and a Duncan Phyfe sofa. Set on just over an acre, the grounds include a swimming pool, a three-vine arbor of wisteria, trumpet vine, and grape, a large deck with grill, and a gazebo, giving weddings and receptions several distinct settings for gathering. Concord Manor accommodates weddings and receptions of up to 250 guests, with a base package that includes wedding chairs, folding tables, and round wrought iron tables set around the pool and arbor. The estate also hosts rehearsal dinners, reunions, birthday and pool parties, and business meetings. An adjoining guest house and the main residence's bedrooms allow groups to stay on site, and the venue has welcomed guests from 35 states and more than 20 countries for weddings and family gatherings.

That We Are We were the ones who bought the farm! The name Belle's Pleasure was inspired by my great grandmother's ancient house in Prince Georges County, Maryland (Bealls Pleasure). As a child, I remember being awed by the big brick home with chandeliers, rich rugs, secret staircases, room after room stuffed with treasures, and the aroma of boxwoods that encircled the secret garden in the back. Even before we found this teeny-tiny slice of heaven we now call home, I knew our farm would be called Belle's Pleasure. This property was first shown to us in the fall of 2016. I went to look at the house with our month-old baby in tow. When I saw the cathedral ceilings at the top of the barn's inner staircase, I knew this was the one! A Smidgeon of Heaven Being here at the farm gives me a special feeling, a serene and peaceful atmosphere that penetrates the entire property. Maybe it's the history; knowing that the old farmhouse at the property's center has stood for almost two centuries gives you a sense of confidence. Maybe it's the rustic beauty of the enormous white barn, which was built by farmers in 1920 as a dairy barn. Several generations have lived and worked on this land over the past 250 years, and this small piece of heaven has been a part of their lives. Please come in and take a look around. The Real Estate Industry With 15 acres of rolling pastures, mature trees, beautiful white fencing, an acre and a half pond with a dock and bridge, the 1920's dairy barn, the historic farmhouse built in 1769, the horse trails and creek that meander through the woods, and the horses, the photo opportunities are infinite. Set along a quiet stretch of Tabbs Creek on Virginia's Chesapeake Bay in Mathews County, The Inn at Tabbs Creek is a waterfront bed and breakfast built in the 1880s by a local shipbuilder. Innkeepers Sherry and Ridge Crewss, who took over the property in May 2024, continue a tradition of coastal hospitality that blends the building's historic character with updated amenities. The Inn operates as an adults-only retreat, with seven guest rooms and suites, a chlorine-free heated pool, a private dock, and kayak, canoe, and paddleboard access directly on the creek. A four-season back porch, a fireside Morning Room, and a hidden Speakeasy lounge give guests indoor gathering spaces alongside the waterfront grounds. For weddings and celebrations, the Inn offers full property buyouts that include exclusive use of all seven guest rooms, a wooden ceremony arch, a licensed officiant, and waterfront amenities for overnight guests. Cloverdale Barn is a restored historic barn set on a working cattle farm in Winchester, Virginia, about 65 minutes from Northern Virginia. The barn dates back roughly 200 years and was brought back from years of storm and tornado damage through a 10-day restoration by Amish craftsmen, a project the family undertook so their own children could marry there. Today it hosts weddings, birthdays, baptisms, graduations, reunions, and company gatherings. The barn offers a 40-by-80-foot event space with an additional lower "bank" area that serves as a rain-alternative or extra gathering spot, and the property includes a pond and rock area often used for outdoor ceremonies. String and globe lighting are part of the barn rental, along with oak farm tables, a maple round table, and whiskey and wine barrels available at no charge for decor. Couples are free to bring their own caterer, DJ, cake decorator, planner, and other vendors, and acres of on-site field parking accommodate large gatherings. A bridal-changing cottage is available separately, and a two-station restroom trailer can be added for larger events.

Yorktown Sailing Charters operates the historic tall ships Schooner Alliance II and Schooner Serenity out of the Riverwalk Landing Pier in Yorktown, Virginia, part of America's Historic Triangle alongside Jamestown and Williamsburg. The company has sailed the York River for over 30 years, guiding guests past the Yorktown Battlefield, the Victory Monument, and working watermen, with dolphins, osprey, and the occasional naval ship or submarine along the way. Serenity is rigged the traditional way, with block and tackle rather than modern winches, and passengers are welcome to lend a hand at setting sail. Winterham Manor is a historic Italianate home in Amelia County, Virginia, built around 1855 by a cousin of Thomas Jefferson and listed on the National Register. Purchased in 1999 after decades of abandonment, the property underwent a full restoration before reopening in 2003 as a bed and breakfast, wedding venue, and special events destination. The grounds sweep down to a 15-acre lake, with 300 acres of nursery plantings rising on the hills beyond. Couples can choose from several ceremony sites on the property, including the Versailles Pavilion overlooking the lake, the Manor House's front porch and facade, the "Lovers' Tree," a 60' x 40' event tent with a central dance floor, or the Manor House itself for weddings of 75 guests or fewer. The Manor House and adjoining Garden Terrace suite can accommodate overnight guests, with a separate entrance for the groomsmen's suite and dressing areas for the bridal party on the second floor. A Honeymoon Cottage in a historic dependency offers a private porch overlooking the lake. Winterham Manor also houses Hadfield Fine Arts, a gallery of paintings and prints spanning different cultures and periods, giving guests something to browse between wedding events.

The Quarters of the Captain There are floor to ceiling windows that look out onto the Dockside Patio and the Alexandria Waterfront, making it a private room with a view of the Alexandria Waterfront. Several recycled and repaired chairs have been used to decorate the space, which includes three rectangular farmhouse dining tables. The white painted cedar-wrapped walls serve as an ideal backdrop for the nautical art on show, and the rich chocolate wood flooring creates a striking contrast against the white painted cedar-wrapped walls. The abundance of natural light streaming into the area, as well as strands of Edison lights strung over the tables, conjures up visions of a garden patio party, complete with fresh flowers adorning each table. Crow's Nest is a type of nest where crows live. Beautiful views of the Potomac River and a birds-eye view of the entire restaurant are available from the Crow's Nest, which is positioned high above the main floor of The Crow's Nest. Among the many amenities are a fully stocked bar, comfortable leather sectional sofas, and numerous dining tables scattered throughout the space. Both business and social receptions will benefit from this design feature! It's the Bridge, you know.. The Bridge, which overlooks the docks at the Waterfront, is a semi-private venue with seating for up to 50 people for a seated event. Stunning views of the Potomac can be seen while dining through floor to ceiling windows that bring the outside in.
