At Smyth + The Loyalist, we approach everything we do with warmth, vitality, and craftsmanship, with a few surprises thrown in for good measure. Our objective is to make your event a thoughtful, personalized experience from start to finish, whether you choose our private dining room or a buyout of Smyth or The Loyalist. Our private dining area, which is located on the lower floor, harmoniously integrates the personalities of the two restaurants to which it caters. With an exposed brick wall and distressed wood beams throughout, the area is reminiscent of a stylish yet homey urban loft. The old leather couch and forest-themed backdrop behind it provide warmth to the space, while the richly grained dark wood tables offer playfulness. With audio/visual capabilities, the tiny area is ideal for both celebrations and business events. The Loyalist Meets Smyth is a unique way to experience a private dinner that we have developed. This innovative family-style dining experience marries The Loyalist's French-inspired meals with Smyth's culinary vision to create an engaging, convivial evening of exceptional bites. The chefs carefully create each menu based on seasonality and frequently include delicacies not found at either restaurant. This one-of-a-kind, family-style experience may accommodate up to twenty people. The ocean's bounty is featured boldly and gently throughout the menu at Smyth, and innovation ebbs and flows from it. Our private dinner experience begins with a half-hour of canapés and beverages, followed by a ten-course seated tasting menu. A buyout of our light and airy main dining area can accommodate larger gatherings. Jefferson Tap offers a great private event area that can be personalized for any event or occasion, whether it's a conference, a baby shower, or a birthday. Since 2002, we've been tucked away in Chicago's Fulton River District area, making us the ideal setting for a drink with friends, a romantic late-night supper for two, or a full-fledged party with all the trimmings. Enjoy daily specials, weekly specials, a seasonal menu, a dog-friendly terrace, and two full bars to keep your spirits high. The Loft at Jefferson Tap is on the second floor of the building and has a west-facing view of Jefferson Street. The Loft comfortably seats 56 people and has a maximum capacity of 114. There are six televisions in the Loft, as well as a drop-down projector that works with both Mac and PC. The space is equipped with full A/V and a microphone, which makes it ideal for both personal and professional events and can be adapted to fit any floor plan or design. The placement of Boqueria in the center of the West Loop's Fulton Market District provides three unique spaces for groups and parties to gather. Large events may also be held at the facility, which can be hired out in its entirety. The cocktail area, which is sandwiched between floor-to-ceiling windows and the bustling bar, is the ideal setting for festivities directly beneath the glow of the Fulton Market sign at night. The main dining area puts your guests in close proximity to the excitement at the bar while still giving them with a private spot to relax. The open-kitchen dining room combines the open kitchen and dining space together to provide a more intimate atmosphere where guests may receive a front-row seat to the activities of the cooks in their kitchen. The Office is an intimate speakeasy located just beneath The Aviary, serving classically themed cocktails and vintage spirits. In The Office, sip on rare, antique spirits or enjoy traditional cocktails created by our professional bartenders. Not in the mood for any of the cocktails on our menu? Choose Dealer's Choice and our bartenders will create a one-of-a-kind drink using your favorite tastes and spirits. Exclusive to The Office, there are also delectable culinary options. It's an opportunity to use all of your senses — sight, smell, sound, temperature, and taste. The Aviary is one such location. This cocktail bar is the idea of chefs Grant Achatz and Nick Kokonas. The Aviary is a playground where your expectations of a night out drinking are tested and redefined. The Aviary is known for its innovative cocktail presentations, such as the In-The-Rocks, Vacuum Pot, and The Porthole, but it's also known for its cutting-edge ice program and exquisite food. The Aviary was named to Food & Wine Magazine's list of America's Best New Bars, Esquire's list of Best Bars in America, and the James Beard Foundation's award for Outstanding Bar Program in the United States as a result of these programs. Haymarket Pub & Brewery is a brewpub and event venue located at 737 W Randolph St in Chicago's Randolph Street corridor. The name pays tribute to Chicago's Haymarket Square — site of the 1886 Haymarket Affair, a labor demonstration that helped establish the eight-hour workday and inspired May Day observances around the world. That history informs the brewery's identity as a place for working people of all kinds, a welcoming spot to gather after a long day. The venue's private event space, The Haymarket Tavern, accommodates semi-private gatherings of up to 40 guests in a reserved section of the back bar and dining room, or full buyouts for groups of 100 or more — with complete venue buyouts available for up to 350 guests. The space comes equipped with two pool tables, two dart boards, seven flat-screen TVs, a 100-inch HD projector screen, and a full sound system. Haymarket's kitchen offers buffet packages, à la carte banquet options, and beverage packages, with food and beverage minimums that vary by date and season.

Gaijin by Chef Paul Virant is Chicago’s first okonomiyaki restaurant, offering both Hiroshima and Osaka styles of the savory Japanese pancake. A self-described gaijin, or “outsider” in Japanese, Virant playfully embraces this perspective and honors traditional preparations and techniques, as well as his well-known passion for pickling and preserving. Designed to deliver a lively and interactive culinary experience, the 60-seat space is anchored by a custom 12-foot griddle and chef’s counter and offers individual Hiroshima teppan griddles for table service. The dessert menu features kakigori, a shaved ice dessert, along with mochi donuts and other Japanese-inspired treats. The bar program showcases highballs and a focused selection of beer – including a Moody Tongue-Gaijin collaboration house lager, sake, Japanese whisky, and wine. We can’t wait to see you at Gaijin!

DL Studio contains an Instagram worthy, professionally styled, party space. 10 foot floral wall, overflowing balloon fireplace, champagne phone, lip wall, and more. Fully furnished with gorgeous white furniture, flokati throws, and crystal chandeliers. Chic styled art bar for all fabulous occasions DL Studio is complete with 3 swanky lounge areas and 5 dining tables complete with ghost chairs and white linens. You an host either a cocktail style party with 60 guests or a seated dinner party, with 45 guests, in our even space at DL Studio.

Chicago Theater Works is available for rental and is the perfect venue for a unique event. We love parties, fundraisers, film screenings, wedding receptions, corporate off-site and more… Our facility can accommodate up to 180 for a sit-down dinner, play, recital, screening… to 200+ for a stand-up reception. ​ Furnishings: We have 220 black banquet chairs, six 24” rounds, twenty 48” rounds, six 60” rounds, a buffet table and several 6’ tables and two high-tops. We also have six sections of 12’ pipe with black drape. ​ Food and Beverage: Northshore Catering is our in-house caterer and they are amazing. You are welcome to work with them or bring in your own food. For catering we have a staging kitchen with 3-compartment sink, commercial refrigerator, ice maker, convection oven, microwave and stainless prep table. There is an extra charge for using the kitchen. We require that all beverage be purchased through our full bar. Our prices range from $3 for soft drinks, $6 to 8 for beer, $7 to 9 for spirits and $6 to 9 for wine. We can do a host bar or cash or credit for guests. Sound, Lights, Stage and Tech: The space features a 16’ x 10’ stage with a simple light plot, board and spotlight. We have video projection capabilities and a wide format screen. We also have several wired and wireless microphones and a plug in play sound system. The venue also has wifi. Depending on the extent of your tech needs there may be an extra charge to have our tech person on-site. Location: We are located in Lakeview on Belmont between Sheffield and Racine. We are two blocks east of the Red, Brown and Purple lines. We are also on multiple 27/7 bus routes. A nearby parking lot is available for an extra charge. The venue has two large bathrooms and two private, unisex bathrooms. There is also a dressing room with iron, steamer, washer and dryer. We always have a staff member and, if needed, bartender available for your event.
