Alice Keeney

Alice Keeney earned a B.A. in English and played Division I soccer at the College of Charleston, where she graduated in 2004. She then enrolled in one of the top five photographic schools in the world, the Speos Institute of Photography in Paris. Keeney began her career as a photojournalist with the Associated Press, where she spent several years documenting news events in South Carolina's coastal region. The New York Times, The Washington Post, USA Today, as well as many more national and international newspapers, have all featured Keeney's photos on their front pages. Additionally, Sports Illustrated and Newsweek publications have both featured her work. Her passion for soccer led to a significant photography project with Grassroot Soccer, a Sub-Saharan African NGO that teaches African youngsters how to live HIV-free. She has had the chance to visit South Africa, Zimbabwe, Botswana, and Namibia thanks to unique ventures like these. Alice specializes in taking photos of local businesses, people, and families while residing in Charleston, South Carolina with her husband and little daughter. Her photojournalistic training is evident in her wedding photography, which captures the most priceless moments in a real, unposed, and classic way. At the moment, Keeney is a resident artist at Charleston's Redux Contemporary Art Center.
