Babycakes Inspired Gourmet Pancakes

Babycakes is a well-known catering company in Chicago. We specialize in unique gourmet pancakes and creative "breakfast" dishes. Pancakes take us back to our childhood. Breakfast brings up memories of childhood. Babycakes improves these nostalgic recipes and makes them suitable for any time of day. The founders of Babycakes set out on a mission to reimagine the basic pancake. Chef Leah has produced over 250 different Babycakes tastes that are suitable for any meal or special occasion. Food, we feel, is art; it should be artistically presented, sinfully delicious, and consumed, wanted, and shared! We specialize in unique gourmet pancakes and creative "breakfast" dishes. Breakfast FusionTM was conceived by Chef Leah Wilcox, who combined beautiful presentation with American and global inspirations to offer a new perspective on breakfast cuisine. Babycakes has been on more than a dozen television shows, including Chopped and Cutthroat Kitchen on the Food Network, Food Paradise on the Travel Channel, Chicago's Best, and many others. For 2017, 2018, and 2019, Chicago Magazine recognized us as one of the top 10 caterers in the city, as well as one of the best food trucks. The Food Network website has three of Chef Leah's pancake recipes. Leah is from the Bay Area, but she has resided in Chicago for almost 15 years and considers herself a Chicago native. Kendall College offered her a Culinary Arts program. In 2012, Leah bought Sweetheart (our lovely food truck) on the spur of the moment. Things were difficult for a while because I had no experience running a business or working in the food service industry. She persevered, despite a lot of sweat, tears, and sticky palms, and Babycakes has continued to grow and evolve. She enjoys mixing cocktails, writing stories, painting abstract art, and arranging theme parties in addition to making a variety of unusual pancakes. As easily as a blank canvas, Leah feels that creativity and artistic vision can be used in cuisine.
