Some say that real life is even better than fiction. For me, this sentence is true. I started off as a movie cameraman, filming take after take of performers attempting to get genuine emotion. While I enjoyed the creative process, the audience would only see snippets of the results of the hours I put into each project. This did not sit well with me, and I desired for my art form to have a purpose and to stand the test of time. I was commissioned to photograph my first wedding in 2011. It was on that day that I discovered my love for filmmaking and realized what I wanted to do with my life. It was to capture pure, genuine emotion while documenting actual life. It was not only a delight to shoot the wedding, but the joy I observed on the couple's faces was overpowering. I knew then that this art would stand the test of time and provide joy to everyone who saw it. The 26th of October, 2014, was a great day for me. Joy, the love of my life, and I married. I finally had the opportunity to be on the other side of the camera and experience the emotions I had documented. Breland II and Liam, our two handsome boys, have since graced our lives. My experience on the other side taught me a valuable lesson. Value. It taught me the value of these priceless, unscripted, once-in-a-lifetime experiences.
