Carmo Catering

Carmo is a tropical restaurant and bar with a goal to serve vegans, vegetarians, and omnivores alike with healthy and cheap food in a warm, welcoming, and casual environment. It was founded in 2010 by Chefs Dana Honn & Christina do Carmo Honn. The menu features eclectic and traditional/traditionally-inspired dishes with an emphasis on fresh, local ingredients as well as uncommon and little-known flavors from around the world. It is built upon the rich, multi-cultural culinary influences found throughout the Caribbean, Central and South America, West Africa, Southeast Asia, Gulf South, and beyond. A key component of Carmo's aim is to tell the story of tropical foodways from "origins to table," honoring and respecting the species, people, and cultures from which the vast majority of components and foods that make up the global diet originate. With certifications from regional and national environmental and conservation groups, including the first SeafoodWatch-certified restaurant in Louisiana and the only three-star restaurant in the state of Louisiana, Carmo has made sustainability an integral part of its mission.
