Our objective is to meet the demands of all of our customers by providing the wholesale food business with delectable pastries, sumptuous desserts, and everyday breakfast products. Our devotion to our customers and our tradition of service are the same today as they were when we first opened our doors in 1928. It all started in 1928, when Clement Maggia, an Italian pastry chef, emigrated to the United States to open Clement's Pastry Shop. Clement's soon developed a reputation as one of the best pastry shops in the Washington, D.C. area. Clement's wholesale bread business now has a long list of satisfied customers, including government officials, world-class institutions, managed dining services, and, most importantly, devoted customers. Clement's has been in business for more than 100 years, with five generations of family ownership. Chef Clement's original mission is to create outstanding, scrumptious pastries and desserts. Chef Clement Maggia's family has been in the bakery for five generations, and the fifth generation is currently working there. This is the foundation of our tale. From its humble beginnings in the Northwest section of downtown Washington, DC, to its current manufacturing site in Hyattsville, Maryland, the company has been guided by one family. We've grown from serving generations of loyal foot traffic consumers to serving our loyal wholesale clients throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Our clients range from huge wholesale accounts (imagine thousands of pastries in a single order) to tiny boutique restaurants or caterers, as well as local families who have enjoyed our desserts for decades.
