About Fabbrini's Flowers
If you've purchased flowers in the Chicago region since the late 1960s, you've most likely purchased them from Fabbrini's. One recent client walked into the business and stated that she was "purchasing some Fabbrinis," as Fabbrini's was associated with flowers to her. That is the highest compliment we can receive, and one that we have worked hard to acquire over the years. Kathy Fabbrini decided to launch a modest retail boutique store providing excellent presents in 1966, and the rest is history. For the first two months, she didn't have many clients, so she decided to install a cooler to hold fresh flowers. For St. Patrick's Day, she made her first wholesale order of 100 green carnations. She knew she was on the right course when she sold them all. Brass & Glass was the name of her shop. We changed our name to Fabbrini's Flowers & Gifts in 1968. She had the firm running smoothly by 1972 and was looking for a new challenge. This occurred at the time that Woodfield Mall was being built. Kathy obtained a $200,000 SBA loan and hoped that Fabbrini's Flowers would be chosen as the mall's exclusive florist by the Taubman Company. Woodfield management informed us that we had won the contract, beating out ten other florists, including Phillips Flowers. By 1980, Fabbrini's Flowers had established itself as the Hoffman Estates/Schaumburg area's exclusive florist. We sold flowers and delivered flowers for every band that performed at Popular Creek Music Theatre, including Billy Joel, Elton John, REO Speedwagon, Jimmy Buffett, Frank Sinatra, Bon Jovi, Areosmith, Journey, and Wayne Newton, to name a few. Kathy and her husband, Joe, chose to retire in 1988, and their son, Jim, took over the floral business. Jim has always believed in "giving it away." Jim has given away nearly a quarter of a million roses to folks who come to see the 4th of July and Septemberfest parades in Hoffman Estates, as well as moviegoers at the AMC theater and other well-attended events in the town, for the past fifteen years. Jim continuously seeks out ways to grow Fabbrini's Flowers in order to ensure that it continues to bloom. He recently began delivering the store's products to you, our customers, when you need them most: during your high schoolers' graduation ceremonies, your children's dance and ice recitals, and other key performances. We like being a part of your memorable occasions. Jim has also introduced point-of-sale computers to the shop's brand, as well as extended store hours and broadened the delivery region. These modifications continue the history of excellent customer service established by his parents, and are one of the reasons why Fabbrini's Flowers has become Hoffman Estates' oldest continuously operating business. In fact, Fabbrini's Flowers was featured on the cover of Floral Management magazine as an example for all florists to follow because of Jim's customer service. Fabbrini's Flowers has also won The Knot's prestigious "Best Wedding" award for best wedding florist in Chicagoland for the years 2007-2020. Although he is proud of his past achievements, Jim Fabbrini recognizes that success is achieved one customer at a time and is committed to assisting each customer he encounters.
