Suitable for both gift-giving and personal use! I grew up in the southern gardens of my father's and grandparents' home, like so many other children. Camellias, violets, zinnias, and old-fashioned roses are among the flowers available. I adored each and every one of them. During my working life, I spent more than a decade working with college students, until I reached burnout. I applied to a sustainable agriculture program on the spur of the moment. My first day of apprenticeship was one of the most vivid days of my life. I was sent into a giant patch of zinnias and sunflowers by the farmer to create bouquets for the farmers market. I was very excited. After that, I was completely hooked. Since then, I've planted a large number of vegetables and even more flowers in my garden. In 2016, I began floral design coursework, which marked the first time in my life that I had attempted anything truly artistically. I'd never considered myself to be an artist, but it turns out that I simply hadn't discovered my preferred medium. My passion for education hasn't changed, though I've shifted my focus to educating people about farming, sustainability, and how to reconnect with the earth that provides us with so much. In my design work, I strive for a wild aesthetic, that "freshly gathered" look that necessitates a lot more than simply drifting through my field and plopping the harvest into a vase. I want my flowers to bring back memories of growing up in gardens, of intoxicating scents, and hordes of hardworking pollinators. And I'd like to assist you in comprehending everything that goes into that beautiful bouquet you purchased from a grower at the market or from your neighborhood florist.
