Harvard Radcliffe Collegium Music

The Harvard-Radcliffe Collegium Musicum is a mixed-voice choir that has received national recognition and is known for its energetic and forward-thinking performances. The choir's repertoire ranges from classical classics to new compositions written by well-known, up-and-coming, and student composers. Since its founding in 1971, Harvard's Collegium has been a source of joy and vitality for the university's student body, bringing together students from a diverse range of racial and ethnic origins and academic fields under the common bond of a passion for great and profound choral singing. Collegium is in a truly unique position because it is both an accredited course at Harvard College and a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization run entirely by students. Its mission is to cultivate a passionate community of student musicians through collaborative projects, tours, and involvement in the local community. Collegium researches, creates, and gives performances of works spanning the period from the fourteenth century to the present day, both on campus and in locations all over the world. In addition, in order to present expansive choral-orchestral works, Collegium regularly collaborates with the two other Harvard choirs, the Harvard Glee Club and the Radcliffe Choral Society. In spite of the fact that the sixty people who make up the ensemble come from a wide variety of academic fields at Harvard, they are all brought together by their love of singing together in harmony and their commitment to preserving and advancing the choral art through dynamic performances, adventurous collaborations, and thoughtful music-making.
