We came up with the term "Heads Up Penny" while standing outside our practice place. You'd think we'd be enjoying a well-deserved rest after a great practice, but that wasn't the case this time! We were surrounded by saturated guitar amps, drum stands, cymbals, pedals, and cases due to a malfunctioning ceiling. We noticed a heads-up penny on the threshold and resolved to do everything we could to keep our heads and spirits up. Since then, we've been together. Week after week of playing cover performances has allowed us to improve our musical skills, learn how to manage a company, and figure out who we are and what we want out of this dream. Being in a cover band is often associated with a negative connotation. It might be construed as a sell-out. However, a cover band, in our experience, can be an effective incubator for something completely unique. Playing other people's music can teach musicians a lot. This is where we get a lot of our ideas for making something totally our own.
