Heartsweet Cakes

Many people who work in the cake industry will tell you that they began baking at an early age. While I have many fond memories of baking in the kitchen with my mother over the holiday season, I cannot say that this is the reason I selected this profession. I was always good at arts and crafts as a kid. Imagination led to design, which led to creation. I've always considered myself to be an artist. I went to Chicago after graduating from college with a business degree and began working downtown at a marketing research agency for three years, using solely the left side of my brain in a cubicle. I craved for more from the beginning. I knew I wanted to work in a field that I was enthusiastic about and that I would like. I enrolled in the famed French Pastry School and have never regretted it. After a few internships, I worked my way up to managing the city's best cake business. I refined my talents and soaked up as much information as possible about the profession and cake creation. My vision and goal for Heartsweet Cakes began to take shape in this bakery, and it is now a reality. Cakes with a heart. Heartsweet is named after my incredibly supportive husband, who refers to me as his. Heartsweet is built on the foundation of love and the significance of celebrating it.
