Hugo Martinez Photography

Hugo Martinez was born in the Mexican city of Guadalajara in the state of Jalisco in 1984. In 2007, he graduated from the University of California, San Diego, with a bachelor's degree in cognitive science with a focus on neuroscience. Martinez is currently employed at The Walking Company while pursuing his Master of Fine Arts in Photography at Brooks Institute. He employs photography as a means of delving into his past through the use of iconography and symbolism derived from his Mexican ancestry and personal experiences as a child growing up in a California suburb.
