Inland Oyster

The house oyster at Thomas Keller's sibling restaurants The French Laundry in Napa Valley and Per Se in New York City is now Island Creek Oysters. Food critics such as Sam Sifton and R.W. Apple have praised them. They've even been served at White House state dinners. We're a vertically integrated farm dedicated to improving our food systems while having a great time doing it. We run a shellfish hatchery in the northeast, a distribution company that sells shellfish from over 100 farms to about 700 chefs across the country, a retail company that serves thousands of home-shuckers online and at our shops in Duxbury and Portland, Maine, a restaurant group in the Boston area, and an international development NGO that works in Haiti, Africa, and right here in Duxbury. The farm is at the center of all we do here at Island Creek, no matter how busy we get. It all began on a muddy, windy flat in Duxbury Bay, and it will end there. We grow food in our backyard that is good for the people who eat it, the people who grow it, and the environment in which it is raised.
