J. Pace and Son

Joe Pace was born in the Abruzzo region of Italy, in the town of Orsogna. He arrived in America when he was nine years old. He settled in Boston's North End and has since become a culinary legend in the area. As was customary at the period, half of the family migrated first, followed by the rest of the family. So, first Nicolo and Maria emigrated to America, then Rosaria and her son Joe a year later. In the 1960s, Nicolo and Rosaria immigrated to America and worked hard to build the neighborhood Italian "Groceria," which has since developed into what it is today. They left the Pace family with a heritage and a bright future, and they have proceeded to expand on it. The Pace family today owns three J. Pace & Son food retail outlets, two in Greater Boston and one in Saugus, MA, as well as the Rosaria restaurant in Saugus.
