Kamehachi offers a variety of solutions for making your next party a hit. Sushi, appetizers, salads, noodles, and entrees are available for delivery or to be served with your own personal sushi chef (other event staff are also available to serve, bartend and keep your party running smoothly). Choose from our catering menu or create your own personalized menu and platters! In Japanese, kamehachi means "eight turtles." In Japan, the turtle and the number eight both represent longevity and good fortune. Kamehachi has been perfecting the art of sushi preparation for over 40 years. The ideals and traditions established at Chicago's First Sushi Restaurant are still alive and well today. It has acquired its reputation as the top Japanese restaurant in the Chicago-land area by using the highest quality ingredients and attentively crafting its dishes. Kamehachi's scrumptious menu, as well as its city and suburban locations, have evolved and expanded throughout the years. Sushi fans and those who prefer more traditional cooked fare will both enjoy the grilled seafood, steaks, salads, and a variety of new maki and sashimi dishes. Kamehachi arrived in the United States via family members who used to operate restaurants in New York City. Mrs. Marion Konishi launched Kamehachi in 1967 in its iconic Old Town location across from Second City, where many locals and celebrities first had sushi. Sharon Perazzoli and Giulia Sindler (Marion's daughter and granddaughter) are the current owners of Kamehachi, which now has sites in Old Town, Northbrook, and the Loop (Chicago).
