About Molly Levine
Molly Levine is a chef that works on both coasts and specializes in serious farm-to-table cooking. She's a restaurant consultant, kitchen design advisor, farm dinner curator, event organizer, and local food advocate, among other things. She began her culinary career in Nashville, TN, followed by a three-and-a-half year stint at Alice Waters' renowned Berkeley, CA restaurant, Chez Panisse, where she solidified her firm convictions in seasonality, locally, and sustainability by working her way through each station of the restaurant. Her fundamental culinary model is a direct representation of the area she lives in, which she recently applied to her own business, The Pony Stall: a mobile farm kitchen situated in Tannersville, NY. Molly repurposed an old food truck into a roaming restaurant in the Catskill Mountains, based on anti-racist policies and a focus on playful farm-sourced cuisine. Molly led the successful opening of Carissa's, a new restaurant on Long Island's East End, from kitchen design and build out to menu writing and recipe development to hiring and training a diverse staff of cooks, into what has become one of East Hampton's most popular restaurants, in the previous year. Molly worked on the aesthetic-driven kitchen and restaurant design, which won a Jame's Beard award for exceptional design. Prior to Carissa's, she was the head chef of Behind the Bookstore, a Martha's Vineyard favorite, where her spirit of connection and natural cycles inspired the restaurant's rebirth for two years. She organizes farm dinners, natural wine suppers, and collaborative events on a regular basis.
